I heard if you shoot the younger Ocelot and kill him you failed the mission because you altered the future.

Anyways, I beat Sons of Liberty last night. Good game, but the amount of propaganda is amazing. Ignoring that, the last boss fights were easy, but fun.

I'm now playing on Extreme Mode and I just started playing as Raiden.

No, I have no hopes of completing it on this difficulty.

Yes time paradox XD happened lots to me. SOL is a great game even though the story took a massive turn to weird at the end but all in all great game. Vamp was a great enemy (even though he is gay >_< XD) I took like ten pills to steady my aim at the end when
He has whatsherface in his grasp and you have to snipe him
It's harder to find someone who DIDN'T have FF7 spoiled for them... By the way, Ark, the Firefox spell check is asking me to change your name to "tenderheartedness", hehehe.

So, with MGS4, they're bringing Vamp back, Ocelot, Meryl, Campbell, Raiden, Otacon... This is sorta reminding me of "The Last Battle"

Pun just ever so slightly intended. And yay.

Chronologically, I'm guessing this is the final chapter.

Question:
Why did Rose seem to love Jack again. I thought before the fight with Solidus, she made it clear she didn't really love him. Was the Colonel giving you orders supposed to be Campbell?
Does Snake age faster than normal humans or something?

No, Ark , it isn't what you said at all. More of Kkun's. I just find it a spoiler, and while I am already aware of it, I just find it wrong to post that. My opinion entirely. I'm the thread starter, you're the mod, so when it boils down to it, it doesn't matter what I think. If you don't find it a spoiler then this conversation is meaningless, but let me add I have a friend on this website who is playing through MGS1 for the first time and might see this thread.

That is all.

No.

I just find points of a plot not discussed at the beginning to be a spoiler. Just forget it.

Might I share someone gave a big spoiler in a thread way back for a game I haven't played yet:
Discussing Boss from MGS3's death.
I will say I was EXTREMELY sad when EE dies. The parrot going "Hal, I miss you" really struck me hard. I almost cried.

And man, the voice acting was STELLAR.

"For those who have beaten MGS3: Snake Eater, I think they're in for a real treat with MPO -- we reveal some massive revelations about Naked Snake's involvement in Operation Snake Eater. And I don't want to spoil anything, but the events of MPO also have a direct relation with what occurs in MGS4. In other words, in order to fully understand what happens in MGS4, you'll need to have played MPO."

"IGN: Are there plans to port Portable Ops to the PS2, in the event that the game receives poor sales on the PSP?

Ryan: Absolutely not." Maybe that means a PS3 port... *cough* No, I know that's just silly.

Even though I'm perfectly fine with portable ops, I still say it's ok to commence the beatdowns of Kojima and Konami... And that ryan guy, whoever he is (someone working on portable Ops, I'm guessing)... Yes, I know you want to. Doesn't matter, I'll be getting a PSP... someday (aka my birthday, in 9 months... After I'm allready over halfway done with school)

Can anyone say: Dot Hack? Pokemon? Matrix? Some people think that's genius. Others say it's straight from Satan. Take your pick, I guess. (back to my term paper... *sigh* so easily distracted)

Wow. That makes me hate portable gaming a little more now. Which I did not think was possible. I wish someone would make a bleem or somthing for the PSP and cripple the hand held industry.

See, thats the reaction that makes me mad. They want people to go out and buy PSPs. I wish nobody would buy the game, and they would realise that making sequals on other systems is ignorant and unacceptable.

Hmm... Well, like I said, I'll be getting it in 9 months. I don't see why the hatred for handhelds. You obviously don't take many long plane rides... Or long rides in a friend's car, or your parent's car, or sit at the california DMV for 3 hours waiting for your turn, etc... I do understand the thing about not wanting to buy a new system, though.

Sorry about the wait, my gamestop got it a day late.

Graphics: You'd be tempted to think this was MGS3. Seriously they're really good.

Story: I'm not into it enough to give a decent review but it's looking good with ,of course, great voice acting.

The new comic styled cut scenes are also very well done, even if it's hard to tell what's going on,due to Ashely Woods art style.

Gameplay: The loss of an analog stick doesn't hurt as much as you'd think thanks to the excellent balancing by Kojima Productions. The controls are difernt from a normal MGS game but I got used to them in a few minutes.

They've also taken out the annoying little things that has plauged MGS, such as having to keep the analog in the direction of a wall to keep yourself sucked up to it.

Recuriting people works well and takes sometime, but be paitent and you'll find yourself another member.

So at the end of the day, it's good! Real good! In fact Imma go play somemore.

So I got MGS3: Subsistence for Christmas.

Now comparing Splinter Cell and MGS, my personal opinion is that SC has always overpowered MGS in terms of game play stealth wise. MGS however, has always proved to have a much more epic plot.

MGS3 changed all that.

In my personal opinion, MGS3 makes the first three Splinter Cells look like a joke game play and story wise. However, Double Agent looks pretty promising. haven't played it yet.

MGS3 is so realistic as far as game play goes.

Plotwise, I find all the supernatural stuff like the power to control bees and having electricity unfitting and just plain silly.

There has been a supernatural element in Metal Gear since... Well, actually, I don't remember one in MG1... At least, the Metal Gear Solid story has had one all along (Vulcan Raven and Vamp, anyone? Though I admit, it was at least more ambiguous with Vulcan Raven...)

I agree about the villains being a bit silly... The bee guy is the worst, and Volgin is right up there... I know I'd be hardpressed to find an agreement on this, but I get this weird feeling they were trying to make Volgin a slight tip of the hat to Liquid... I do like the Sorrow, the Joy, and the End, though...

I don't recall saying Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 were void of supernatural elements.

I said I disliked them in three more than any other.

I would say a more prime example in MGS1 would be Psycho Mantis.

If you want to take it further, I have always found it cheesey that Metal Gear roars like a dinosaur.

I simply love metal gear solid. I recently beat snake eater a few days ago, and the ending blew me away. I love it's cinematographic presentation, I love the story, I love the character, the voice actors, especially David Hayter.

Oh man, the last couple hours of Snake Eater were GOLDEN I tell you. GOLDEN.
Fighting the Shagohod, Riding the Motorcycle, Fighting The Boss, the ending cinematics. Simply stunning and amazing
I don't even own the first 3 and it's one of my most favorite franchises all time. I will go as far as to say the Storyline now rivals that of Half-Life's. It's a tough decision between the two.

Oh and Tom. I played some of Double Agent. It's pretty interesting, though nothing really new. Co-op mode is certainly pretty fun. (Though pretty hard)

I hate to do this, and I know it's swear-masking, but I came to the revelation that Snake (Both Solid and Naked) is, undeniably, absolutely, 100% definitely, the definition of "Hardcore Bad#%%".

Hail Hideo Kojima! Snake Eater was perhaps my favorite game of all time, and dabbling in that pulled me into the rest of the series. Cold War history, secret organizations, and the supernatural have always been my cup of tea, and it shows well in Snake Eater, I think.

And it's a nice change of pace from all that "Save the princess" malarky. MGS3 is one of the few games I've ever played that actually made me emotional at the end. Why can't more games have plots like this?

I don't consider psychics to be supernatural, but that's just my opinion. Not everything he did was entirely realistic, but... Yeah... I'll stop there.

Well, psychic technology isn't entirely beyond our graps. I mean, the USSR persued psychic developement during the Cold War. Saw part of a special on it, hosted by one of the Bonds.
