It's been around for a bit now, but it still hasn't reached stores, and I plan on getting it for Christmas. It looks INCREDIDBLY fun to me (so does KHII) what are your thoughts?

I played it. Its great. I actually played it on the Wii so yea it was great

I beat the 3rd dungeon. It certainly is the most epic zelda game.

This game, so far, is shaping up to be a great successor to Ocarina of Time, maybe even surpassing it. *grumblewindwakerkiddieamericancartoongraphicsgrumble*

Another note, I also wish they'd upgraded the graphics... This was OBVIOUSLY not made for the Wii originally... Of course, it was the game I saw advertised, just at the time it was for the gamecube. Some bump mapping in the environment, some more detailed models with some special effects would have been nice...

Wii graphics or not, the game is amazing. I am just about to start the third dungeon, and I've been loving every bit of the game so far. There have been so many new dynamics, new weapons, and new ways of battling. On top of that, the story is getting really interesting. I really love how they've done Midna. I love how they created her personality, and the mystery behind her is very interesting. And I like how it's following the classic path: Find three items, each in the realm of a different goddess, and then open up a new part of the story. I just can't wait to see what that new part will be.

I have a question about the game.

Myself being kinda a marathon gamer (i.e 6-8 hours in a row on a day off); is my arm going to get tired from swinging the Wiimote around all day to make Link's sword work?

I'm still indecisive if I want to get the upcoming Gamecube version or wait until I get a Wii.

I don't think so, but then I only play for about 1-2 hours at a time. All it takes a is a little flick or shake of the wiimote, so it's not terribly strenuous. The only thing that's worn out when I quit playing is my brain. LOL

Nah i only did play it for a few mins but you can swing around the Wiimote but you can as Esoteric said it just kinda is flicking the controller also which is more recommended

I agree. It's really not that much work physically, just mentally.

By the way, I liked WW, and I thought it had some really excellent music too. It's definitely not as good as OoT or TP, but it certainly wasn't a failure.

Anyway, I can't wait to get started on the third dungeon!

I'm probably one of the few that will be very happy to play this game on the good ol' GameCube. XD Not only do I not have the money for a Wii, but the game would have been out long ago had they not held it back to add Wii capabilities.

And yes, I agree with Esoteric--Windwaker was too a lot of fun (minus the whole "find the Triforce in the middle of the ocean" thing)! XD The cel-shading really grew on me while I played it, even though I'm very glad to have the OOT-esque Link back for TP. :D Anyways, yay for December! :D

I will be getting the GCN version, as I'd rather not see signs that say "sdmod". Mirrored world and signs FTL. :(

I'm getting the Gamecube version as I'd rather not buy a version with remote controls tacked on as an afterthought, I'd rather buy the game for the system it was designed for. Seeing as how there aren't many advantages to the Wii version, in addition to the fact it will cost me an extra 250 dollars to play it on that system, I'll stick with the version for the system I already own.

Really? I knew the characters were mirrored, but I didn't think the environment was. In either case I'll probably buy the Cube version too, just to see the differences in play.

Aww WW is my favorite Zelda game and Finding the triforce with the treasure maps was one of my favorite parts XD...

Yes I know OoT is better but personally, I prefer WW and I like the WW graphics better too XD My brothers thought i was nuts when we first saw the trailer for WW and I said this is gonna be the best Zelda game ever...

I loved the whole cartoon look (I hope they bounce back to again sooner or later), liked the story alot, and the muisc was good but not as great as OoT...

Edit: Actually, finding the TriForce maps was the fun part... Finding the actual TF pieces was just meh... it was alright..

I'll be getting it for gamecube, because I don't have the money to get a Wii. I really enjoyed Windwaker, even though the triforce piece thing was really annoying. I hope this one is even better.

Yes. They mirrored the entire world as a quick fix to making Link right handed. This way, they didn't have to take the time to redo the animations for things like doors. It also helped to prevent funky camera angles occurring due to the shield being in a different place.

Gameplay-wise, I would say WW is one of the best.

Some issues I have with Twilight Princess is simply that the bosses are waaaaaay too easy, and the dungeons are pretty easy. I know like in Ocarina of Time and stuff, you'd have like 5 small keys and stuff. In TP you seemingly have them only 1 at a time. (Meaning the dungeons are a bit more linear in a way)

But the fighting. On man it's top notch. The best out of all Zelda. Killing enemies with the sword on a horse is FANTASTIC.

I suppose I'll take this as the official TP thread, since it's the one closest to the top and everything...

Anyway, bought it yesterday. Played it for about an hour and a half. Good stuff, but I have a couple of complaints.

One, the animation directors for this game should be FIRED. They should be fired because the animations for Link are HORRIBLE. The running animation is atrocious, and a few of the attack animations are stiff and jerky. When enemies and NPCs have better animation than the main character, there is something very wrong.

Two, the stab attack is kinda hard to do. But I don't use the stab attack anyway, so it isn't that big a deal.

Three, it's kinda tough to aim right when in wolf form to attack. But I attribute that to unfamiliarity, I'm sure I'll get better in time.

Anyway, I got to the top of the tower with Midna and she says she has someone she wants to introduce me to. Along with mocking me for not knowing where I am. I'm going to go play more in a few minutes. XD

You mean the finishing move? Get used to it =p You're going to be needing it.

Just wait till you fight some bosses, they are E P I C.

I've found them to be much to easy, myself. Things only really seem epic to me when they are difficult. I don't think I've lost enough health to use a fairy yet. (Why Nintendo doesn't include a "Hard" difficulty setting for these games is beyond me)

No, the stab attack. Oddly, after I posted that I went and played some more, and I was able to do the stab attack just fine. I just couldn't do it during the "tutorial" part with those kids, which is weird.

I died once so far, the first time you fight those three shadow creatures you have to hit all at once. I died because I didn't really know what the energy field move did, but I restarted and was fine.
