Who would pay THAT much for ONE DVD?! Come on! What's changed from the original DVD's that they would charge $70?!

Forgot to put set.

It will be a box set. The single volumes are now being discontinued and this version will be the only one available to retailers.

I found out more on what will be in the box set.

Sticker Sheet—featuring all FLCL Logos (9 stickers)

Postcard Set featuring robots from FLCL (6 postcards)

FLCL Ultimate Book featuring translation notes, English voice actor interviews, manga scenes, and more.

Awesome, this is what I've been waiting for. $15 per episode is too much for me, especially since I have them all on tape anyway. A nifty box, a few extras, and $20 less will finally get me to invest in those lovely DVDs. horray.

I've seen all I wanted on AS.
I don't care much for this offer. I might though if it was sold for the price it deserves.

Seriously, they could have put the entire series on one $30 disc long ago.

I got the three volumes at discounted prices. I'm not a big enough fan of FLCL to double dip on it.

I never bought any of the series (again, it could easily have all been on one disc) but we'll see if I get this one.

Well, considering the extras (especially the book), $30 sounds too low. $70 is a bit steep, on the other hand. Something in between would be best, maybe $60.

I don't think $70 is too much, at all. The individual DVDs retailed for $30 a piece, meaning it'd run ya $90 to buy all three of them. Not only would you be saving $20, but you're getting lotsa extra junk, too.

And another thing, Gainax charges insanely high sums to license their anime, so it's no wonder the DVDs have been so much. Still, $70 is not overpriced.

As far as FLCL goes, I thought it was okay. It was pretty and had fun music, but it wasn't Gainax's best (that'd probably be the old Gunbuster, which will be getting a DVD release soon, stateside).

I'd have to agree with this Chris guy,

FLCL is a cult-classic that's not going to be forgetton, so $70 for a box set plus goodies isn't a bad deal, not to mention, you probably could pick it up at Best Buy for $10-$20 less, as they're anime is always cheaper than other video stores.

Great music, great story, fantastic animation and the lovely HaruHara Haruko make for a box set I cannot live without!

yeah... I don't trust those tshirt offers from Sync Point^^ When I got my Di Gi Charat box set with it, not ONLY was the shirt months late in receiving (forgot that I sent for it when it came in, actuallyA^^) but when I CLEARLY circled SMALL what did they send me? XL!!!! >_< Still chocked up about it... I would've wore it too but since its' too big for me, it sits in my closet still, not knowing what to do with it (nor does anyone want it/fit it :/)

I'd take the shirt (and could definitely wear it, it'd probably be a little snug actually), but I doubt you'd care to spend the money to ship it to the US. :p

Um, first of all, swearing isn't allowed, even if you do cute little marks in its place.

Second, if you actually READ the thread instead of shooting off your mouth, you'd realize why it costs so much, because of the packaging, the postcard, the shirt...all the neat little extras that are coming in the box set.

Third, as Christians, we think it is wrong to support bootlegs, as they are grossly illegal. We would rather buy our anime the honest way, from legitimate sources. Also, bootlegs are almost always poor quality anyway.

Because for some people, anime is a hobby. Fans like to add super limited edition stuff to their collections(me included).
