The "gush only" ps3 thread...

Hey, MS and N fans, feel free to make this sort of thread (though the Wii thread is pretty much a gushing thread allready) so that the fans of the PS3 can discuss it without the system bashing... Oh, and Sony fans, no 360 or Wii bashing in here...

I'm tired of it... It's like that everywhere else on the internet... People hang around discussions for gaming platforms for the simple purpose of saying how worthless or stupid or whatever that platform is... To be honest, it's ticking me off... What is the purpose of hanging out in a thread made for fans just to say how much their system sucks? That's a step away from trolling, in my opinion. However, there are no restrictions set inherent in the thread that says you can't do that. So, how about a thread where ONLY FANS come in to talk about it, and what they're looking forward to? That would be brooding brilliant. (euphamisms are so much fun) I'm not a mod, but I ask that this thread include no system bashing of any kind.

I have a friend that's buying a PS3 on launch and selling it on Ebay... He plans on getting a Wii, a 360, and using the rest for a PS3 as soon as the shortage is over. I wish he'd let me play it before he sold it, but I can wait... At least I know I'll have one friend with a PS3 before me, just not as soon as I'd hoped for... And that he'll have a 360, so I can play Halo 3 when it finally arrives. And a wii... Well, hey, if it's free, I'll play all three.

In any case, I don't have anything new to say on the subject, just tired of having the PS3 thread invaded.

The PS3 is awesome, but I think the 3DO really sucks.

Seriously, though, I'll get one eventually. Just not until I have no money and all that. If I were going to get one (that actually ended up working) at launch, I'd grab Resistance and Sonic along with it.

I don't ever CARE if Sonic sucks, I still want it.

The ps3 has my money several months after release (not fighting the crowds/money). Its got the games I want.

I will be buying one probably around April 2007. Maybe a bit after. I don't care about getting one till Metal Gear 4 is close.

I'd totally love one at launch, but... Well, there are more important things on my list of desires than a video game system... Though the release of Portable ops (for anyone who doesn't know, it is a direct canon sequal to metal gear solid 3) may result in the need to buy a PSP... Plus, I'll get to watch movies at school, which will be awesome... Or not... I mean, that's a third of my PS3 money down the drain... not to mention money first goes to my tentative Japan trip... And that's a lot of money, too... 3200 all together...

I will be at gamestop a week after launch, though, to get my hands on one... I can't wait to try resistance, and since I loved armada so much, that warhawk game (the one that actually uses the six-axis... this is a gush only thread, remember my own rules) seems like a full 3d version of armada...

I really want to find out, finally, what Afrika is about, and try out some of those uber-pretty games... Like Afrika...

Too bad they'll never have the eyetoy on display there, because there are some cool things coming out for that... Like... (yes, I'm saying it again because NO ONE ELSE IS) Eyedentify... When that happens, people will want High def disc formats, and a PS3 is a two-fer... People will want a game system that offers a cheaper High def movie player as well as being a one stop media center. Well, I know I will, anyhow... PS2 was my first DVD player. PS3 will be my first High-def movie player.

Blah. They need to stop making Metal Gear games on crappy portable things. Thats just a weak attempt at getting people into portable gaming. (Which I hate with a passion) If I want to play video games, I will do so on the PS2 I spent my hard earned money on. But making sequals to games I loved, on hand held systems is lame. That would be like making the next Super Smash Brothers on Gameboy only.

My point is, you don't take a sequal to another system. It is just ignorant to the fans who bought the first game. But, as Bob mentioned in the chat earlier...they could port it. Which would be nice.

well in a way um fine with a sequil on a handheld i mean if i had a psp id definatly own the metal gear games, and since its for a handheld devise production cost and time are less than a full bore console game, so in a way it opens the game up to more sequils or continuing story lines. not to mention certin advantages the portables have as far as gameplay

One of my friends at school is getting a PS3 at launch... I'll be visiting her a lot... Resistance will hold me over until MGS4... And Afrika... I mean, Afrika will hold me over, in conjunction with Resistance, until MGS4...
