Ps2: Ntsc-j

A question for all my NTSC-zoned friends out there!

I want to send a OS2 game to a pen-friend I have in the states. She, obviously, has an NTSC-zoned PS2. Now, the game I've bought was marked 'NTSC' where I bought it. It was in an online-auction (reputable site, don't worry) and the seller had labelled it as 'NTSC-J'. I'm not sure if he just mean it was an NTSC game in Japanese (and yes, the game's Japanese), or that it was for an 'NTSC-J'-zoned PS2.
Either way, the question I'm really pondering is this: do you think this game will run on an NTSC zone PS2?

Cheers,

Psoph.

Sorry =( No it will not work on a state-side playstation 2. Even though both Japan and US use NTSC television communications, ps2s have their own specific regional settings. And NTCS does not determine regional settings of a game console, it determines what television system is used. (To broadcast signals and stuff, yadda yadda etc etc etc You also have PAL and SECAM which are used in other countries. You use the PAL system) It's the console itself that determines whether or not you will be able to play imported games.

The only way for your friend to play an imported game is to 1. Get a flip-top with a boot disc (that changes regional settings) or 2. Install a modchip (Which is much harder. Involves soldering wires) Though installing a flip-top can be hard for someone's first try, plus it voids the warranty. Or he/she could always buy an imported ps2, which would be the most expensive.
