I'm leaving CAA perminantly. i've wanted to do this for a long time but I've never gathered the courage to let go.

There may be a way to have a blog service here...but I already have like 4 journals, sooo...^_^; Also, if you don't like LJ, there are other journal services that have the same coding as LJ, but are different in their own ways. Blurty.com, GreatestJournal.com, and Caleida.com. There's also Diaryland.com, with them you can have the option to "lock" your diary.
Edit: BTW, at GreatestJournal, you get image hosting and 1000 user icons for free :p

I don't really think blogs are a good idea on the CAA either - we would have to moderate them. And I dunno about you, but I'd hate to see my personal diary getting moderated by someone.
I think Cephas's reasons are fairly reasonable too, if I wanna find out about other people's lives I usually just log into LJ, because that's what it's for. ^_^

Just a suggestion to the ever expanding CAA. A more customized feal for members. Where they can talk about their day and contribute to CAA at the same time.

Although the issue has never come up seriously with the admins (and likely will not) I can say that as long as you put it in the Goof-Off forum, CB, you are welcome to make such a thread. However, I do not see it as likely that such threads will become standardized or have any special software connected to them at any time. As SL has previously pointed out, it would create a special burden on the moderating team when it would be much easier for members to get an LJ or Xanga account (not to mention said account can be customized, whereas a CAA page cannot, at least, not for members) and link to it in their signature. This also helps prevent cluttering up search results for people who had no desire to see anyone's journal in the first place.

Personally, I don't really like the idea for a blog forum, because a blog is used for expressing your emotions and stuff like that. Sometimes the things that you want to express aren't the type of things that should just be written down on a forum where everyone can see them.
