FFXII Revanent Wings??

Postby Tenshi no Ai » Fri Oct 27, 2006 7:46 pm

So once again I was browsing the Square site... this time the Japanese one. At my owkr they're already advertising for FFV Advance coming out, and didn't realize it was for Advance instead of DS (I guess III is the only one getting the DS "royal" treatment?) But anyways, I came across "FFXII Revanent Wings" for DS! I havent' even heard of this till now... Here's the Japanese site for it: http://www.square-enix.co.jp/ff12rw/

...are they ALREADY making a sequel/prequel to this?? (Haven't looked up on it my self yet, but wanted to start up a discussion on it to see if anyone else is familiar with it^^)

Square-Enix is in what I like to call a sequal and spinoff mood.

But, seriously though, I'm not really sure what to say about this until I've actually played Final Fantasy XII.
Character designs look like they got something of a makeover. Take a look at the Panelo character art for instance.

Not sure what to say yet (as MasterDias said), but SE must be really confident to be making sequels before the original even comes out (or did it? I haven't checked).

One thing I have to say on the site: the orchestrated FF theme will always be awesome.

The original did come out, just not in America yet.

Ah, well that makes a little bit more sense, I suppose.

I played FFXII demo, and I was very disappointed... I was really excited about it, until then... A sidequest on the DS sounds sorta cool, though... Like those mobile phone games, only we may actually see this one stateside.

Actually, I'm a little surprised that it's gunna be on a DS, now that I think about it. I mean, sounds more like a PSP game :/ Either way, one big reason why I GOT my DS, was so I could play all the FFs that keep beign released on Advance/DS... and glad the FFs won't really be showing up on PSP, because the game selection on there and stuff has no interest to me whatsoever :/

That reminds me, I think it was from a IGN interview I read... but, basically, it was some chat with the head of the Square-Enix project to remake Final Fantasy III on the DS. Anyway, he said he would love to do port/remake on any of the other FFs for the DS (ei, 7,8,9 - more likely 9, I would think). Here's hoping! :thumb:

Only one will be showing up one the PSP that I can think of, however it doesn't look in any form of the word, exciting. This project is refered to as "Crisis Core."

Gotta do my sony fanboy duties: We may not be getting Final Fantasy (which is a shame) but we're getting a bunch of cool games, not the least of which being Metal Gear: Portable Ops (a direct CANONICAL sequal to Metal Gear Solid 3 that bridges the gap between snake eater and outer heaven)

And the catalogue of PS1 Final Fantasy and related games will soon be available for download onto the PSP: FF7-9, FFT, Chrono Cross, FF Origins, FF Chronicels (FFIV and Chrono Trigger), FF Anthology (FFV and FFVI) I'd say that's a decent selection even if none of it is new.

Don't get me wrong, I'd totally get a DS AND a PSP, if I had the money for either, but PSP is definately my first choice, particularly given that.
