It rocks
it is a really good series i think and a lot better than the old one its a rather clean anime which is great! the story is a prequel to bubblegum crisis if you didn’t already know and the main character has a awesome motorcycle i would talk more about it but i don’t want to spoil it for you check it out its really good

Does Bubblegum have nasty stuff in it for content?
Depending on your tolerance level, YES. I own two BGC series.
skin/sex: Both sets have a little skin. It's kinda anoying, as the plot is REALLY interesting. Bottom line, I would not let my kids (if I had them) watch this. Then again, I might let a teenage girl watch, but not a guy. There are a few 'suit up' scenes of the main female characters which we not needed, and there is one quick shower scene (similar to Vampire Hunter D). Also, one of the characters works in a lengerie store. Sex scenes are pre-marriage and non-graphic (eg, implied).
violence: There is a great deal of fighting, but not much gore that I recall. There is the usuall amount of blood for an anime that takes place in a 'crime fighting' universe, but no entrails or other nastyness.
language: Since it's a law-enforcement anime, there is a bit of language. Not so much that it detracts from the plot, but enought that it's not suitable for younger viewers.
The edited version (saw on sci-fi a while back) was pretty good, acutally. They edited out what shouldn't be broadcast and made it in general much better. I only say 2030 then, however.
Anyway, that's my $0.02.

Incidentally, should I dupe this and make it a new thread?

Um... The only way I know to pronounce that involves sticking my finger halfway down my throat. Care to elaborate as to the meaning?!?

I paid 22 for the set at Best Buy, almost done the series...so far no nudity, sex, langauge has been great...(don't think I have heard any cursing) Its not a bad anime. Full review will come when I get done with it. Btw thanks for posting about Bubblegum man.

I have seen the first couple discs of Bubblegum (the newer one), and I thought they were fairly good. Nothing shocking or over the top as far as content goes, although there were a few fan-service shots and some disturbing bad guys. The plot is interesting so far, not amazing or anything, but it definetly keeps you involved. All in all a pretty decent anime, but not worth watching if you are sensitive to violence or skimpy clothing.

You mean that the new version is clean? The old version had at least one drawn out sex scene in it... I know that because it was in a PREVIEW for another anime I was watching. (ah, the bad old days when they'd show hardcore porn previews in my neighbor totoro (hyperbole...)

AAAHHH!!! I just got this anime today! It totally rocks! I could barely tear myself away from it! I watched the first disk in one sitting, I will watch the second one tommorow. I can't believe I put off buying this because a review site said it was 'mediocre' anime.
I have enjoyed every minute of it so far.

The only AD Police on DVD here is the TV series, but there is an OVA series of AD Police that got a M rating at anime cafe. I think the TV series is clean, but the OVAs may be a different story. Also, the Fox Totoro DVD (the only OFFICIAL Totoro DVD available in the US) has no hardcore porn previews on it or anything like that.

I just finished the series, and despite what
http://www.animeondvd.com has to say about it, I would have to give this series an A. I personally enjoyed it very much. It's underappreciated anime everyone should give a shot.
