What was the point the series was getting out there. Another one to me is "Butterfly Effect", it was wierd too. :eh:

Yeah, FLCL takes the cake. The manga was even stranger.
Think happy thoughts.

If by Lain Series Saga, you mean Serial Experiments Lain, then yes, i have seen that. It was really really good. Yeah a little weird, but in a different way from oh say Excel Saga or FLCL.

Yes, if you meant Serial Experiment Lain, it was weird but in a good sense. Watch almost every episode of Lain and found that it takes quite a few episodes before you start to get a hint of what's going on. And then after that, nothing else makes sense until the end. LOL but it's still good IMO.

On the other hand, FLCL is one title I can't seem to stomach very well. Not that I'm saying it's bad, it's just hard for me to relate to it. hehe Excel Saga has a strange, (almost morbid sometimes) sense of humor. I tolerate it to a certain point.

Ahhh Excel Saga... I should try to get into that again.... that was the funniest anime I'd ever seen for the first few episodes.... the first few times I watched them.

weird anime.... Texonolyze or something like that... I couldn't make it throught 2 episodes O_O And I only watched 1 episode of Furi Kuri... ouch that was just beyond weird. But that was when I was first getting into anime, so maybe I'd like it better now... *shivers* gosh, that was weird ....hmmmm *thinking* the idea of gunslinger girls is kinda weird if you think about it, but I really love that series ^_^

One of the wierdest I've seen is Boogiepop Phantom, but it did present very interesting...enlightenment. It's not for people with soft stomachs, though. But I loved the way they subtly provided the mood. The first few episodes start with a thick sepia overtone on the animation which eventually thins till the end when you start realizing what's actually going on.

The weirdest I've last seen is Texhnolyze. I did get the sociological POV Yoshitoshi Abe was driving at about biotechnology, but really, I don't think he needed to be that abstruse. Anyway, he's the same guy who did Lain, so I guess that was to be expected.
*Insert witty saying here*

Princess Mononoke. Although not extremely weird, my brother said that the last half hour made him feel that he was on a trip. I could say the same about Miyazaki's "Spirited Away" which, despite being good, is also pretty weird.

Hmm... Lain is great. It's not for everyone, though. It's slow, hard to understand, and a bit disturbing, but it's one of those things you can get a lot out of if you really want to. It takes effort to watch the right way...

Excel Saga is very different... It's just crazy. I don't think FLCL beats Excel by any means. Stop at ep 17, though. Avoid ep 26 at all costs.

Princess Mononoke isn't weird, it's beautiful. It's an incredible epic story. No one can beat Miyazaki.

FLCL is pretty weird, but I think Bobobohbo-Bohbobo just might beat it. I haven't seen Excel Saga, though, so I don't know about that.

Miyazaki stuff is weird, but it's beautifully and awesomely weird--not weird weird. Does that make sense? At any rate, I personally wouldn't count it in here.

Sorry I posted a blank, I forgot I watched FLCL and that was a very wierd anime. Little kids living in a town that no one can leave. A giant hand on the hill holding a iron, the iron was post to iron the universe? And a little kid who is in love with a pirate girl from outer space who haves here power.... Wierd anime.

I woul dalso have to agree FLCL is one of the most wierd animes out there. Pure randomness. Where else can you watch a shopw where a kid gets hit by a motorcycle only to be smacked in the head by a guitar.

I have yet to see Excel saga but from what I've heard it's pretty wierd.

Excel Saga is definitely weird, but I though the weirdness was a litle too forced for my taste.

My weirdest favorites are Galaxy Angel, Jubei-Chan, Galaxy Fraulein Yuna, and Shinesman.

Ok sure, you list some anime that are quite odd, I'll agree with some of those like FLCL and stuff, but I know an anime that tops them ALL OFF!!!
CAT SOUP
It was a waste of my life to watch this show and unless you want to have a messed up brain trying to think of just what happened, please don't watch it. And don't listen to what reviewers say about it being "a breathtaking adventure" or whatever, because it's just pure ............. So if you REALLY want to watch the WEIRDEST anime of all, go watch it but just don't waste your money on buying it :/

Agreed. Catsoup, one of the weirdest. As well as Shinesman. But Shinesman is weird in a herioic taste. But Catsoup is just weird. As well as Poo Story. or something like that. ~_~

also tru. excel saga is pretty good but on occasion (more often than not) the humor is perverse. if you like truly random anime then yeah...its good; but consider yourself warned about the dirty humor

I watched about 15 mins of a subbed movie called "angel's egg." In that fifteen minutes, there was one line of dialogue. The rest was just weird. I guess it's supposed to produce some sort of weird abstract response from the audience. Maybe I'll finish it someday, but that was definately a weird 15 mins.
