Okay, I've my next anime dvd down to one of the following *very dramatic music wails in the background* ---
Fruit Basket volume 1,
Noir volume 1,
or finally (. . . , dang-- what was the third one?
Oh yeah!)
Princess Nine volume 1.

I need help! :?: I can't make anime decisions with knowing what you people think! *Runs off to hit herself with an anime mallet* :dizzy:

Good question. I have the same problem you have with different animes (except for Noir). ...I'm no help! Sorry... I don't know about Fruit Basket volume 1 or Princess Nine, but personally for myself, I would get Noir... Maybe that's because I'm a boy...I really don't know...sorry...

Fruits basket is cool but you could just read the manga (more info any way;) )

I'd get Noir (it's not just a guy thing, Noir rocks man!!! :thumb: )

I'm leaning towards Noir or Fruit Basket. I mean, Fruit basket=guys who turn into animals when they get hugged. I mean, who wouldn't love that sory line. Or Noir= girls with guns who don't need superman to come and save them. Being a girl that too is very appealing. I don't know!!! AHHHH!!!

Hmm...that's a hard choice. They're both really good. I really can't recommend one over the other. I keep trying to recommend Fruits Basket (mainly because I loved the anime so much that I bought all the DVDs), but I keep erasing it because Noir is really good. There is this to consider: The first Fruits Basket DVD has six episodes, while Noir has five.

Perhaps this'll help: If you want to laugh and feel good, get Fruits Basket (Note: The first one is really sugary, but stomach it. It gets really good. Also, Episode 4 is absolutely hilarious.).

If you want some good action scenes as well as the beginning of an intriguing story (the main plot doesn't come until about nine episodes in the series), get Noir (Note: the series has a lot of flashbacks at first. It's better not to watch them all in one sitting. Also, Episodes 2 and 4 aren't connected to the main story. They're more of character development episodes).

What has being a guy got to do with Noir? XD XD

Anyway, I'd pick Noir, but that's because I'm rather biased since it's the only one I've seen out of the three, but i do have an inkling as to what Furuba is about. Anyway, ditto what SManBeyond said of Furuba and Noir. Depends what sort of thing you'd like to see.

And if you're appreciative of good music, I'd DEFINITELY go for Noir. Yuki Kajiura material. :thumb:

Yeah. The music in Noir is great. I bought the CD last fall, and it's still one of my favorites.

Fruits Basket has really simple music, but strangely enough it works and is appropriate for the series.

I haven't seen Fruits Basket though the warm applaud by several anime lovers certainly has me interested, and if it's sugary I'm sure I can enjoy it -- Somedays' Dreamers was the same way. Noir on the other hand is awesome, excellent story and the action scenes are 'el stylee'. It just depends rather you want something funny or something action-oriented.

Well, my intial responce would be to pick up Fruits Basket first. Also, if you're interested in Princess Nine, I'd suggest buying the new box set that was released a couple months ago. It'd be way cheaper than tracking down each individual DVD.

I'll second, third, whatever, Furuba.

Btw, someone mentioned the soundtrack, which Geneon has recently released States-side. It is indeed fairly simple music, but it has some very pleasant themes, and makes very nice minimalist listening. The intro and outro are there (sigh, but not Laura Bailey's beautiful English rendition as well), as well as the teaser music.

If ya want a series were the gals dont haveta be rescued by guys, I recommend Super Gals! Kotobuki Ran. Go rent it a blockbuster or some place and see if ya might like it.

Super Gals, yep that's great! This is a great series for fun, super gal power, and bishie guys all rolled into one.

Out of the ones you mentioned, Mangafanatic, I'd go with... Fruits Basket. There are only 4 discs to buy and it really is one of the best anime series ever made. I've even found them for $19.99 at Target. However, Noir is a definite buy for later. You're right, nothing like women who can take care of themselves. ~-^ Princess Nine, however, is a great anime as well. The box set is pretty cheap and it's a great series.

Now, if you look on the watchability rating - meaning, you'll watch the show over and over again - definitely Fruits Basket. I still don't mind when my daughter pops it in the DVD player and I sit through watching an episode for the fifth time.

That's a really tough decision. Music-wise - Noir. Swordskill is right about Yuki Kajuira's music, it's the best.

Okay, I'm sure I've really helped confuse you. ^_^
