Fist of the North Sar. I heard it will grow hair on your chest just by listening to the theme song.

But yeah, Gurren Lagann is pretty manly.

But Fist of the North Star is also pretty violent, just with the particular techniques Kenshiro and Rei use.

I think the manliest anime of recent memory would definitely be Chihayafuru.

I don't think even Kenshiro could beat Chihaya at a game of karuta.

Would that be... *dramatic pause*

Gurren Lagann has too many girls in it to be the manliest anime ever.

It's the manliest anime I've ever watched, but I'm sure Fist of the North Star is manlier (I've never watched and probably won't).

I remember one of the first few things I thought when I started watching it was "This is definitely a show for guys",(what with the huge robots, battles, fanservice and such)

Fist of the North Star is the manliest anime ever and if you disagree, YOU ARE ALREADY DEAD.

Why are you so interested in the manliest anime ever? Trying to become a man? :p

LAWS OF DIVORCE AND INHERITANCE.

An unusual public-information series in which helpful lawyer Taro Bengoshi talks the viewer through the fascinating world of divorce relating to marital violence, adultery and irreconcilable differences, as well as methods for dealing with a partner unwilling to consent to divorce, general procedure, division of assets, compensation, parental rights and child support. The second episode concentrates on inheritance, planning a will, the rights of legitimate children, rights of children from a former marriage, renouncing the right to inherit, finding missing fortunes, intestate wills and procedures for dividing assets.

The rest is just kid stuff.

It's actually not as girly as it sounds. It can be fairly dark at times.

I am greatly disturbed by this. I don't want to meet this smiley in real life.

And I agree: Princess Tutu is the MOST MANLIEST Show Ever.

AAAAAAAHAHA! Smiley fail, I love when that happens.

I've read a lot in Otaku USA about Shigurui, maybe I should finally check it out and see what happens.

A friend of mine is taking some sort of gender studies class, and he was talking about how masculinity was defined in Western culture. Apparently, it really isn't the presence of masculinity as much as the lack of or opposite of what is seen as feminine.

For example, the stereotypical chick flick is some 19th century period piece/Jane Austen adaptation, featuring the chaste, calm romance between the heroine and some nobleman, with lots of talking and no explosions. Therefore, a stereotypically MANLY show is set in the future, everyone speaks in monosyllabic grunts, and there's lots of people getting punched/explosions/people getting punched so hard they explode. Which is pretty much Fist of the North Star. It's fascinating, really. </serious discussion>
