Anime plot bunnies

The big big list of fun anime plot bunnies!
The only one I can think of right now is in Cowboy Bebop, the doctor in the hospital that Faye's in in "My Funny Valentine" tells her that they didn't know her real name, so they named her after a song. Later in the series, that old lady in "Hard Luck Woman" who knew Faye in school calls her Faye Valentine.

Kokoro Daisuke, I thought all that doctor had originally was that her name was just "Faye," and he came up with the "Valentine" with that song. If what I remember is true (I'll check when I have the time), then won't that situation be disqualifed as a "plot bunny?"
BTW, I am with Aka-chan here. Could you please define what is a "plot bunny?"

"plot bunny" is a term usually used to refer to a small story or plot idea fermenting in your head (hence "bunny"...like a dust bunny), waiting to be written. it's normally used by fanfic writers. //puzzled// i haven't seen CB yet, but based from all this talk about Faye's name, i think kokoro daisuke means either a smaller subplot in a bigger story or an idea for a fanfic coming from that...

I think she may be refering to inconsistencies in the plots of some anime series.

The lady later on in the series doesn't just call her Faye, she calls her "Faye Valentine."

I can see the casts from Sailor Moon and Hamtaro getting together for a good time. (I can just picture Howdy making a bad pun about Usagi's name.
)

Ooooh, you mean like how in Digimon, Matt and TK don't live together because their parents are divorced, but they talk about doing stuff together before they came to the digital world. O.o;;;

In Yu-Gi-Oh (the dub at least, I'm not sure about the original), Bandit Keith said magic doesn't work on metal-type monsters. When Yami dueled Johnny Steps, he destroyed his opponent's metal rocker card with the Black/Dark Magician -- which, I'm pretty sure, is magic... -_-

In the movie "Sprited Away," I was always bothered by the ending. The girl (Sen/Jahiro) can't tell which pigs are her parents earlier in the film, yet inexplicably she is able to at the end of the movie, allowing her to escape the witch witch with her parents. It makes no sense, unless I missed something.

No, Haku brings Chihiro to the pigsty and shows her her parents and tells her to remember them. The time when she feels unable to recognize them is only in a nightmare. Sorry, big Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi fan here.

I'm pretty sure that she couldn't figure out which two pigs were her parents even then. However, that still wouldn't explain how she could tell the difference, since they all looked the same. I don't know...maybe I just need watch the movie again, but I am about 80% sure on this.

Oh, fun thread! However ... I can't think of any right now. There was one that I noticed involving a Tenchi movie - but now I don't remember.

its that disney-esque crap ... you know it was like ... the power of her caring for her parents guided her ... yeah ... at least it sounds good!

I thought it was sort of symbolic. At the time of her nightmare, Chihiro was still feeling pretty lost in the spirit world and seemed very dependent on others. By the time she faced Yubaba's test, she had worked out a sense of independence and direction and had shown that she was above Yubaba's oppressive rules and tricks, especially by going to see Zeniba.
But maybe I'm imagining things.

In just about every episode of Ranma 1/2 Genma inexplicably switches between panda and human without the use of any kind of water.

Best plot bunny is dressing Zelgadis as a bunny in Slayers Next.

Lol. I'm not a huge Slayers fan, but that sounds really, really funny.
