In episode 1, Lum loses her top when Ataru steals it so he can win the game, and there's a flash (when they redo this for movie #2, even this isn't shown) and nothing else. Other than that, it's just the occasional skimpy outfit or girls in their underwear; the closest I remember them coming after that was an episode where Ataru is spying on Sakura in the bath, but the bathtub and other props are strategically positioned. Still, I have over half the series to go ...

The TV series is great! Enjoy the rest Shooraijin. Very funny!
Oh yeah, I've only seen maybe half-hour of the first movie, and that was awhile ago. Are they a continuation of the series, or do they stand on their own?

Whoa, you've seen them all? AnimEigo is still (slowly) releasing them in the States, unfortunately ...

The movies are designed to be stand-alone "mega episodes." You just need basic knowledge of the series to enjoy them, although Movie #2 builds a couple episodes seen before (I can't remember which, but Mujaki and Baku are from the TV series a few episodes in).

I'll have to check them out. Yeah, a friend of mine went to Japan and bought the whole series while he was there! So we had a Urusei Yatsura Marathon when he came back haha!

Were they subtitled, or just in 日本語? One thing I like a lot about the AnimEigo sets is the liner notes, which are fabulous (tells you a lot about some of the "in" cultural jokes that just wouldn't be apparent otherwise).

Yes, they had the subtitle option. I would've liked to see the liner notes. I think there was alot of stuff that was supposed to be funny that I didn't pick up on... er maybe I did, and I didn't know it? I tend to laugh at things other people don't, so maybe haha!

But one good thing is that when Mendoo goes to cut Ataru's head off, or Shinobu throws desks at Onsen-Mark, it's just funny in any language ;)

Well, I just saw the two Uresei Yatsura movies the other night. To tell the truth, I didn't enjoy them as much as the TV series.

I am very confused by the story in Magical Dreamers haha! I mean, I got some of it, but I think I need to watch it again to get what was going on.

And the other one... ahh, I don't remember the name. Did someone else do the character designs for it? It just seems different. I loved the ending though. Very emotional. Haha, the subtitles were hilarious! Various typos, and words left out. I think I laughed at them more than the movie! "Don't be so na?ve" Good stuff hahaha!

Oh, Shooraijin, I don't know if you have a Suncoast near you, but I stopped in there the other day and they have the whole TV series now.

They ... do? AnimEigo is still saying that they're stuck at volume 25 (which is only half the series). I've been waitlisted for the next box set for months. I have volumes 1 through 25 already of the TV show. Unless someone other than AnimEigo is doing releases ...

Magical Dreamers? Do you mean Beautiful Dreamer? Yes, it was waaaay too complex for the series, I thought. It was a clever and risky concept, but too risky.
