Good series- worth a watch? Funi's put alot of advertising into this- is it worth it?

I am a mere 16 episodes into Soul Eater, however so far I am absolutely adoring it. It's very crazy fun. The art is amazing, and has this gothic-toontown feel to it. But note this is also coming from someone who DOES enjoy shounen (*ducks from stones*), and so my opinion might not hold much weight. However, it seems pretty story solid, setting solid and mostly--character solid so far. =) It is rather creepy though, the acting and movements are, once again, like a gothic-toontown, which make it a blast for people who like creepiness...
Something I was (thankfully) warned about though is fanservice. It is heavy in the first like 9 or so episodes, and it's starting to wind down though still present here and there.
EDIT: It is also available on Hulu, first 13 episodes dubbed, and entire series in sub if you decide to just go ahead and try it. =)

Crazy fun, eh? I like series like this. I may have to look into it.
::Update::
Watched episode one. Seems fun so far. I'm gonna finish a few more episodes. It does have some fanservice, but oh well. It looks more American than Japanese in some ways; like something you might see on Toonami.

If you can try to find the episodes that weren't the "late night" specials. They have some fanservice added in and extra blood and stuff.
Although after the first three episodes the fanservice only makes a return... twice, I think, and nowhere near as much.
