In a story by NHK shows that more towns in Japan are using anime for tourism.
I viewed a story which involved the updated verison of EVA where a town is suppose to be part of the story line of the series. There are plans to add to the town to make it more involved as part of the story line.
Covenient stores are selling items which are involved with the series.
The movie of EVA 2.22 shown in the school auditorium and figures of the series placed in areas of the town.
