Yes, I love Outlaw Star! It's one of my favorite anime series'. It has great action and comedy. I also love the characters. The story is also really good, and you won't understand it completely until the very end. After the end, you still may not understand it. But by all means, it's a great series!

Be warned though... Fanservice o' plenty. It's almost never in sexual context, but it still exists. The cyborg Melfina floats nude in a glass tube while in the space ship, and she was also found nude in a suitcase in the beginning. Somehow, she is usually covered up by something though. There's also quite a bit of language, and I would avoid watching episode 23. Episode 23 is a "hot springs" episode. You should know what that means if you watch much anime.

I don't mean to scare you away though. Like I said, this is a great series.

I really liked it but I've only seen whatever was shown on CN ages ago *huggles James* But yes what TrigunX89 says is all true, which is why I probally won't buy it but all the same I loved it, even if it was cut 0.o
"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art; to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul."

I loved Outlaw Star. I've only seen the CN version, like raven, but I'd love to see the uncut version. Any hot spring or bath scene has been forever screwed up by Love Hina. *giggles* I've only read the first five manga, but I love it.

For the most part the show isn't bad, or especially great either. But I gotta admit Hot Ice Hilda is a pretty cool name.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Outlaw Star has a brilliant sotry, awesome characters, and just all around awesome!! One of my top 10 favorite animes :)

Not as confusing as .Hack// (or however you say it). That make me so confused my head hurt for like a week (actually more like a day  )

I'd say Outlaw Star is good cause the character designs are very cool, it's abosultely hilariuous in some parts but then again serious, and just a intriguing story. But be warned, if you have it uncut, thier is some swearing and more then average fan service.

As for the episode "Hot Springs of Planet Tenrain" which was never shown on CN. I didn't know well...what that episode contained. I was midly disturbed cause of that but I found the episode sor some odd reason extremely hilarious.

Having seen the CN version and done research on the uncut, I'd highly suggest you invest some time and effort into really getting to know the series before buying it. Some elements/themes you might want to consider:
- melfina's nudity
- violence levels (not worse than Cowboy Bebop, to me, but still)
- possible homosexual undertones (some argue that Ken (I think that's his name) is gay, also Gene has a cross-dressing scene if I remember right)
- "sorcery"--that's what I've heard some Christians call the Tao Lin (the name may be off) guild and the 'spells'/chants they use.

Again, I'd highly recommend doing some research at a place you trust and seeing how far each of those things goes in the series in relation to how you feel about them. And pray. Ask God for a definate clarity when it comes to your own personal boundaries; I think if you come before Him honestly seeking not to upset Him, He'll reward you for it. Anyway, the point: know your own limits and do a bit of research.

Personally, I did like the plot, story, etc. But I do recognize things that may bother/stumble other Christians and I thought it important to point that out.

I have to say, Episode 23 was very funny. All the nudity ruined it though.

Also, the Caster Gun and the Caster Shells are supposed to be magical. CAST-ER. The shells are supposed to have powerful spells locked inside of them...

and some connects to your "life force" draining your life if you shoot it. I say go for it if you want to see Outlaw Star but be warned there is some swearing, fan service, and violence plus alot of alcohol and magic.

Short? Well, compared to Lupin it is. Outlaw Star is 26 episodes long. That's pretty standard in anime series'.

Aisha Clan-Clan is one of my favorites too, so is Sazuka.

Most anime is 30 episodes long. For instance, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion.
