Major Armstrong is FTW. Actually I probobly watch FMA for the other characters more then the Erlic Brothers. Armstrong is hilarious, sadly my favorite character is was Hughes, followed by Scar.

It would be Rose. She was the only one to have a little bit of pink in her hair that was in series.

I am a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge fan of the Elric brothers! :dance:

I've never been able to get over them, and I never want to. They're the coolest duo I've ever come across in any story ever, no competition.

But there are so many awesome characters in FMA that it becomes hard to pinpoint favorites after that. I like *deep breath* Mustang, Hawkeye, Hughes, Armstrong, Scar, Winry, Scieszka and Lust!

And from FMA: Brotherhood/the manga, I also really like Olivier, Mei, Hohenheim, and Kimbley! (I always try to make the distinctions between Hohenheim and Kimbley in the different animes, because they're drastically different and I think they're kind of lame in the first anime.)

I think my favorite characters would have to include Ed and Al, Mustang, Hawkeye, and Havoc, Winry, Ling and Lan Fan, and the most awesome Greed.

I'd say my favorites are:
The Elric Brothers (Ed and Al) from both Anime Series
Roy ( wasn't always a fav of mine but I've warmed up to him)
Hawkeye ( she's so cool )
Hughes ( he was really a fun character, I miss him.

)
Wraith ( from Brotherhood )
Lin Yao/Greed ( another interesting character(s) )
Winry (she's so cute)
Lust (I think she was characterized in the first anime better)
Ross
Envy ( So cool)

There's probably others that I like but these are the ones I can think of the top of my head.

I have to agree with the Lust statement. In Brotherhood, she was just killed off as another bad guy. In the original, her death was far more emotional. You had grown to love her as a character and it saddened you to see her die.

Yeah, that's totally what I mean.
Her characterization was much better in the first considering what happened in Brotherhood. Since I haven't read the manga,but was that all there was to her character in manga?
Also in the first, there was more background that was put in to her character (same for Greed) that really fleshed out her character.

While Brotherhood is better as far as the storyline goes, character development is far superior in the original series. This one seems to be going at a much quicker pace at the expense of the characters.

In FMA, whenever a character died, there was a large emotional impact. Here in Brotherhood, emotions seem to be pushed down. Even Hughes's death was watered down.

Although I must say, the fact that [SPOILER]Scar killed Winry's parents rather than Mustang did add a lot of emotional tension in the story[/SPOILER]

Mei my friend, just Mei. They're only a little over a year apart, unless my memory fails me.

You know, thinking of an Al x Mei pairing, it would be hilarious if

Heh, I haven't read the manga and I'm only at episode 26 atm in Brotherhood. I'll have to read some of da manga.

Really, I thought she was much younger than that, but it's tough to tell in an anime. :lol:

I love all the characters in FMA (even many of the side characters who only got a little panel time), but all in different ways.
