I have seen the first 5 episodes of Excel Saga. It is really funny if you like weird and radom stuff.

There is some cursing like 3 an episode maybe. The voilce is all comical and there is little blood. It is Rated 17+ but it is Definatly overkill.

I believe the Noir thing was a Troll looking to start problems.... try doing a search on some of those Anime... I know there have been threads about them.

EDIT: Ghost in the Shell is a good watch, but it's Violent, has some Nudity, and contains quite a bit of Language (as I recall).

A guy I know on another forum said this once.
The movie however, strays a little bit from the manga, and Motoko has to lose her kit (clothing) to cloak. Which when in combat, leads to some bending and tearing of muscles that shouldn't be bending or tearing.
So if you can mind stuff like that you should be fine. It was the GINS movie right?

I've seen Noir, and I highly doubt that there were any lesbian implications, though I wasn't exactly LOOKING for things like that when I watched it.

Excel Saga is anime random excellence at it's best. There are some sexual innuendos and bad language here and there, but it's definitely not as bad as Love Hina or Tenchi. I'd reccomend it, yup!

I checked real quickly and Ghost in the Shell is pretty violent and has nudity. First off, the main character is created since she is artificial and the manufactering does not start with clothes. Secondly, have you ever seen those skin-colored fabric that some dancers and such use to simulate nudity? Well that is what the character wears. I have never seen it but the review I saw labled it as 18+.

There are probably more who know about it.

Well violence doesn't bother me at all, but Ididn't realise it was going to have MUCH nudity in it, its only a 15 over here in England.

Okay, all of my opinions only apply to the subs:

I've seen all of Noir, and it's not at all a lesbian show. For a show about assasins, it's not even particularly gory. Personally, I think it's a pretty good series.

Ghost in the Shell is great, and not all an "18+" show. I mean it's not a kiddy show, but let's not go overboard here. Anyways, it's a really good film, and pretty deep too. Personally, I'm looking forward to the sequel that's coming out next year. Definately a "must see" show.

Excel Saga is one of the best anime comedies I've ever seen. Totally insane. There is some innuendo, but really it's all done very well (although many may not like the final, bonus episode). In the end it does a great job of skewering anime/manga.

I heard you had to watch it a few times to get anything out of it. So that must mean its really deep.

Yeah I read the topic. It was just some goofy troll posting to get a rise out of people.

Yeah, that "18+" is over the top, need to check better reviews next time :P. I do plan to one day get GITS and its manga, oh and talking about that. Is the sequal based upon the newest series of manga?

I gotta agree with everything he just said, and I've seen all of the anime listed above.
I'll add just a bit to what he said:
Noir, not gory AT ALL. It's basically a gun-action show with like NO blood whatsover. No language, no nudity, no blood. Action show that everyone can enjoy. AND NO LESBIAN INUENDOS. The reason whoever said that was probably because at the very end, two of the female characters are in a sacred pool prior to a sacred ceremony ritual that has been passed down for generations, and they are basically nude; but you don't see anything. I don't really wanna say what the ritual is, because it's like the second to last episode and don't wanna spoil anything.

Ghost in the Shell:
Remember, America is very paranoid when it comes to labeling something for adults only and such. It should not be 18+. There IS nudity, but not explicit. All the shots are there for a reason. It's for a mature audience only due to it's complex story. The biggest complaint most people say is that it's boring (I didn't think so, but that's me). There's one action scene, and then a small one at the end. The rest is all talk. Now unless you're into complex stories and can be intrigued by just narration (like I am) you might get somewhat bored.
This is a good title I use to show non-anime fans a taste of anime. "Never seen any anime? You love the matrix? Cool. You ever hear of Ghost in the Shell? It's what the Matrix was based upon; here, I'll show you..." And *pow* they're hooked ^_~

Excel Saga: CRAZY but HILARIOUS show! This is a great comedy, but not for kids. It has a lot of inside jokes, especially those of the Japanese culture. Luckily on the dvds it has options that will point out all those inside jokes. There is some language in it. It makes fun of everyone, which is great :-D

Basically, I recommend all 3 titles. Noir to anyone. Ghost in the Shell/Excel Saga to anyone 15+

I mentiond already that I read the topic and it was a troll. I still wouldn't see any of those though seeing as Iam 12. But yeah for DrNic they might be fine. Iam still gonna stick with my Ranma 1/2,Big O, and .Hack//Sign for now.

Thanx, I kinda desided to buy just Metropolis because I was so confused about all the different opinions. But now that I've seen the later replys on this thread I feel alright about buying GITS. I'll have to do it next time I order from amazon. Thanx again.

I'm very careful when it comes to buying animes due mainly sex (I can cope with a bit of fanservice and I'm up for a gory action movie, GO GO Resident Evil!!) so I usually check out movies before buying them. Thanx for clearing that up Volt, I was quite confused indeed.

Thats kool. I own a copy of Black Jack and think thats a brilliant non-action movie!

I've always liked the Patlabor movies.... I once read that they compare in style ot a Tom Clancey, but done from a Japanese perspective of sorts (i.e. - Japan rather than the US being the center of the story).

Noir sounded cool a while ago, Lain is supposed to be good, though odd, as well.. hopefully with my new job I can afford to start picking up a DVD a month.
