What to spend this gift card on?

I am looking into buying one of the following three movies but I can’t decide which one. Can anyone who has seen them or maybe just one of them give me an opinion on which is good/better? They’re all Ghibli movies: The Cat Returns, Kiki’s Delivery Service and Castle in the Sky. I received a gift card for my birthday and these are the only anime available in the relevant store. They also have Tekkonkinkreet, but I don’t really like the art style. If anyone has seen that, I’d like to know what you thought as well.
Thanks.

I've seen Tekkonkinkreet. My feeling is it's the kind of film that tries to be deep and artsy and fails, and then accuses you of not being artsy enough to understand it.
Or something.
I actually prefer The Cat Returns out of that list, even though it's not Miyazaki-- it's very fantastic and cute and charming. Kiki's Delivery Service is probably more "perfect" of a film though. Laputa isn't that interesting, at least to me.

I lean a little more towards Kiki. It's been shown a number of times on the Disney Channel and is pretty clean with a great story.
My second choice on the list would be The Cat Returns. If nothing else, the dubbed voice talent is top notch with Anne Hathaway (Princess Diaries) doing the voice of the lead female character. She did a really good job.
If you like cats you can't go wrong with either.

Tekkonkinkreet is actually one of those too-common Anime feature-length films that assumes you already know the characters and world from reading the manga (Black and White).
I loved Castle in the Sky, but it isn't as good as the other two. If I had to pick, I'd go with The Cat Returns, but frankly, on another day I might have said Kiki. They're about equal in my eyes.

While all three are great movies, I'd probably recommend The Cat Returns. =)

Out of the three that you listed, The Cat Returns, Kiki’s Delivery Service and Castle in the Sky.
The only one that I care for was Kiki's Delivery Service. It was a cute heart warming story and pretty clean, so that is what I recommend.

Personally, I'd say Castle in the Sky. That's always been one of my favorite Ghibli films. Of course, I'm going to have an unfair bias towards the one film that's even slightly SciFi, but there ya go

That's a tough one considering that all of those films were so special that I wouldn't trade them for the world. The best thing I can tell you is that you can't really make a bad choice on this one, and to watch whatever film you feel you need most right now. If you still can't decide, place a request for all three films through your local library (use Prospector/Interlibrary loan if there are no copies in your district) to watch all three beforehand.

Castle in the Sky is my favorite Miyazaki movie. Ever. So that should give you some idea of how good it is (relatively speaking, of course XD)!

This thread has reminded me that I have a copy of Castle in the Sky sitting on my DVD shelf, and I haven't watched it yet!
Kiki's Delivery Service was cute but it didn't do as much for me personally as some of the other Ghibli films did (especially Whisper of the Heart).

Liked that one too. Those who enjoy it should also seek out 'I Can Hear The Sea'.

Am I the only one going to come to Tekkonkinkreet's defense?
Ok maybe it just does something for just me, but please let me make a small case for it.
I went into it knowing nothing about Black and White, and really it isn't necessary to know the manga. I really like the visuals and the art. Think of the background as an extremely detailed cityscape with an amazing color palette.
The story concerns two street kids (The Cats) Black and White. They are the prominent gang in Treasure Town. This is their turf and they like it the way it is. Much to the dismay of local land developers who try to evict them.
This is a character driven anime that I cannot compare really to anything else out there. It really appealed to me, but maybe I am the minority.

You're not the only one in Tekkonkinkreet's defense, Sheol777.
I love anime with great visuals, and Tekkonkinkreet certainly delivered. The other films are great, but I've watched my DVD's of them endlessly.

I really wasn't meaning my post as a slam, either. I love Tekkonkinkreet; it's a welcome member of my DVD collection. The matter I was pointing out is something that tends to turn some people off and not bother others at all. And very often, when several people have wildly different opinions of an anime movie or OAV, strongly for or against, I discover this very same issue at the root.

I say The Cat Returns, or Kiki.
