Ello everyone! Those of you that read my new member post may already know my mom thinks all anime is bad. This is of course not the case (Even though some is) and i was wondering if any of you may recommend an anime or two that a thirteen year old boy may like to watch? Also it would be great if the animes are as clean as possible. as in no blood or gore or various other bad things. Thanks in advance! I know I'll get help because everyone here seems so helpful =)

A post in the standard recommendations thread will be more appropriate:

I think some of the Studio Gibli movies might be good enough, but I've only seen Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away that both have strong "magic" themes. Nothing worse than the Disney magic though. Also check the reviews section.
Good luck with your mom.

Hmmmm, I think both of those might include a bit too much magic to make a first impression and I do consider it a few levels above the average disney magic. At either rate, we could sum up some of the reviews for 13+ that has gotten some very nice reviews.
Giant Robo The Animation: The Night The Earth Stood Still - Although some of the bad religion details should be considered in this.
The gundam series should be mentioned. Although that as well might not make the best first impression.
One piece might be goofy enough for someone to not consider it bad at all, but the violence level for the age group is a tad high from time to time.
Samurai 7 got some nice rateings. A tad violent once again.
I think steamboy might be your best shot overall as a starter. Seeing that Howl's moveing castle and spirited away might be considered too magic-like for some parents taste. Although I have not seen most of the mentioned, I think the review's might hint towards this. Although I know it sometimes have abit excessive explinations on how science will solve so many of humanities problems, so be sure to evaluate that before you present it.

I'd strongly suggest Haibane Renmei. One of the most Christian-themed anime I've ever watched,.

Anything by Studio Ghibli would work - except Pom Poko (the tanuki manhood are very prominent and distracting) and Princess Mononoke (pretty violent at times).

Yeah just about anything made by Miyazaki.
I would recommend Case Closed and Spiral if your family is into mystery type anime. There is some blood, but that's due to the various murders and such. You don't see them happen, well at least not that often.
So do you mean you can't take violence or your mom can't take it?
I would say the Dragon Ball series is good because that's what I watched when I was younger. Although it is series about fighting and such.
If not that then Id say Tsusbasa is pretty clean.
But if you find doubt in these Id stick with some Studio Ghibli films as others have suggested.
