OK, we've argued quite a bit about which shows have the best openings. But which ones have the worst? And no, the One piece Rap:banned: doesn't count:thumb:
My vote goes to Big O.

Easily Berserk. I was expecting something cool and what you got was a crappy song with some guy who can't sing. I actually thought it was in Japanese the first time I saw it and I was like.. man this song sucks. Then I listened closer and figured out he was actually singing in English... and WOW he REALLY sucks!!

Plus it was a boring opening, bad song just all around crappy opening.

I don't understand why they didn't use the music they used during the "next episode" clips. Would have been much better. Or heck even the opening song from game for Sega Dreamcast (part of the reason I was expecting something good for the series since I loved the game opening)

The Black Jack anime (the OVA, I think) has some terrible opening songs.

Oh ya... I forgot about the second season of Death Note... oh man that was horrible. That said, at least the video was just as crazy and synced well with the music. Still a horrible opening though (Berserk still is the worse though IMO... bad song, bad video and didn't sync at all)

Big O isn't the worst Anime opening, but it is the laziest. It shows the titular Big Guy Himself, Big O, and the supporting cast of humans and androids that him relevant, but that's about it. The rest is a cut and paste flash animation with rotating silhouettes of stuff. Nothing too special. At the very least, I refuse to say anything that can be arguably compared with Queen's Flash is the Worst of Anything.

Berserk's opening is downright "Meh." Just Guts standing around with ill fitting music.

Death Note's second opening is definitely pretty terrible though.

The animation is okay but that song is just...not so hot.

Im not going to call this a "bad" opening, but just the fact that it weirded me out gains something in a negative shading.

Big O is more funny to me than completely bad. What got on MY nerves was the way they repeated "Big O" over and over again during the opening. Rui Nagai, the composer, must've been laughing to the bank...

I would also like to add the AMERICAN opening of "Digimon: Digital Monsters." Why? Becuase of all the cuts they made...

Granted, I do like both songs, but the fact that they cut out SO much of the opening in the english dub when they really didn't need to leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

For an english made opening, it has to be the one that Fox kids did for Visions of Escaflowne.

Beserk opening defiantly tops my list, as well as Death Note Season 2's opening.

Hey, say what you will about "Sobasaku (Freckles)", but I got my highest score on Dance Dance Revolution (and some curious stares) from that song in the arcade.

And yeah, I'm not too fond of "Sobakasu (Freckles)" myself. It starts out promising with heavily distorted guitars . . . and then devolves into saccharine J-pop. : : twitch : : The series deserved something better . . . like "Heart of Sword".

I'm also with the OP on Big O. Great series, weak opening theme. I also agree that the 4Kids One Piece rap doesn't count, as it would win by default. BLEGH.

Yeah, I never liked Sobakasu (Freckles) either. Totally doesn't fit the series. I didn't like the second opening either.

Hey, I actually kind of like the Big O opening. It pays homage to Queen's Flash Gordon, which is awesome.

Okay never have I felt such sympathy for the Germans. Oh wait after WW2, I think they deserve it. JK
