Hey did anybody else watch this tonight? I did and I thought it was pretty good. It's a little bit different from some of the mainstream anime. I do like the art styles in it alot. And I intend to watch it again.
It is on at 1:30 am on AS on Saturdays.
I hope that this anime will be good. From what I saw, I liked. But anything can happen.

Hadn't ever heard of it before it started airing, but looking at the link it looks really intriguing - and the art is beautiful. Maybe I'll start recording it...

I've seen a few episodes on fansub in the past. I liked it but had too many other things going at the time, and since forgot about it. I'm planning on following it on AS (got it set on the DVR.)

This. Show. Looks. AMAZING!
I just watched the first episode...and.. WOW. The artwork is stunning, and I love the character designs. (yaay! I.G!)
It's got a very "Rurouni Kenshin" feel to it right now, but that's okay, it's a totally different story line.
Balsa is so awesome!

I got to see the premiere on AS and I LOVED it! At first I questioned wether I would like it or not,but it's awesome! I aggree with everyone else, the artwork is beautiful.
The only concern I have;Is there going to be any major objectional content?
(main concern being sexual content;violence levels look ok so far)

I saw this last night and it looks pretty good. I love the background art. Production I.G. did a great job on the characters too. They're awesome! I'll definitely tune in next week for the next episode.

I was highly impressed by this series for a while, but slowly lost interest. At first it felt nicely-paced and well written, with excellent combat when the plot required and none otherwise. But over time, the plot proceeded to go basically nowhere - people cover the same territory multiple times, things are covered that viewers already know, and not a great deal ultimately changes.
When it ended I found myself thoroughly unmoved. It crawled to the obvious conclusion with little innovation and ultimately just made me vaguely irritated with all the characters. Though I'm always in support of a series that isn't ridiculously packed with action or unreal drama, this one didn't really have any deep themes or more substantive material. It's just a simple story told simply.
Don't let my opinion stop anyone from watching, though. I could easily see how a different kind of person could love the series to death and it is beautifully animated.

Not really. If you mean "major" definitely not.

I saw the first ep too. This is a reason that I like Production I.G. so much. They know what they're doing! This is going to rock, I can tell!

I saw the first 4-ish episodes of this awhile ago, and liked it quite a bit. This seems to have flown under the radar, perhaps because it was Geneon who originally licensed it very early.

Nothing to note in the episodes I watched, and I sort of doubt there would be anything really significant.
For those unaware, this is based on
the first novel in a
popular Japanese children's fantasy series. Scholastic just released the first book in English.

Wow, I watched the 3rd episode last night and I really love the fight scenes. They're very fluid and the camera angles are cool. The animators did a great job.

Yeah, they sure did. This show is a simplier kind of anime where it doesn't really need a long, complex plot. I think that this one can be enjoyed by any who watch it(What I mean is just about any age can enjoy it.). Meaning since it's rated PG, there shouldn't be too much problem watching it with kids(So far from what Ive seen, there isn't that much objectional content.). Sure there's some violence in the fight scenes(Not the very graphic kind.), but really that's all. No fanservice it seems(Thank goodness.). So yeah, it's nice to see anime like this are still being made.

I was watching until Adult Swim booted it to the graveyard slot. Oh well.
I can't say I was terribly impressed with the story in the episodes I saw, but MAN is this a pretty show! I think this may be the best production values I've ever seen in a TV anime. If it wasn't for the lower frame rate (which really only shows in the CG shots), I'd swear this was a theatrical anime, or at least a really expencive OVA. Alas, I just didn't find the actual story or the characters all that compelling, so I haven't followed the show to its new crack-of-dawn slot.
I have to ask, though. Does anyone else think Balsa looks just like a grown up Saya? Methinks someone at I.G. really likes big lips.

XD I stayed up till the graveyard shift, even though I've seen the first five episodes >_> I really love this story so far...
XD Production I.G always has that big lips thing going, I think it's part of their style. If I remember correctly the Major from GITS had big lips too XD.
The only thing that is annoying me is the hair of the young star gazer guy... it looks like a veil instead of hair XD.

Wow I give you props CK because you have just shown me what a true otaku is. One who stays up untill 5:30 in the morning to watch a episode of an anime that you've already seen! Im not making fun of you, it's just that only now do I truly know the definition of otaku.
I still haven't watched that episode yet, I will watch it tomorrow.

haha, I usually just set my alarm clock for whatever time a graveyard show is coming on and then I wake up, watch it, then go back sleep. ^^

I was going to do that, but then I remembered I had DVR so I just decided to record it.
I do like this anime(I watched last saturday's episode today.), I just wish that AS wouldn't do this to a new anime(Putting it on at 5:30am). Oh well, Im just glad that AS is even bothering to show it.

@ CK- Relax, I was just kidding(Well sorta kinda.). If it were summer time than Id be more open to this fact of staying up that late because in the summer time I do stay up very late. But during school time, I can't do that(Id like to, but Id be dead tired during school and that would not help my grades.). So that's why I thought it was a little weird.

Is anyone besides me still keeping up with Moribito? I still think that it is great. Although simple, I think it's a great change of pace for my anime viewing. Because really there isn't too much anime available on cable. Of course there never has been, but there seems to be less then there was before. I still wish AS would move it to an earlier time, but that's what I have my good ol' DVR for.
In the previous episode, I liked how the Blacksmith heard both sides of the story.

I give up on it after I forgot to tape it one night and then I was gone for two weeks.
I'm just going to wait for Adult Swim to put it on Adult Swim Fix and then watch it.

Last week's episode was number 8 and the title for the episode was called Swordsmith.
So they will be on episode 9

Yeah that sounds about right.
But man, I really like the graphics! It reminds me of Miyazaki's works(The way the graphic's look. Not necessarily the content.) but in OVA form.
