How far will you go to look like them?

I know there are alot of hardcore anime lovers out there, like myself, but anybody out there actually go to the extream to look like an anime character. My friends and I have just recently got some really cool costumes that we ordered from this tailor in Boston. We sent her the designs of our character's clothing in our anime Gemini Apacalypse and we just got them after waiting for 2 months. Last night we all went out to walk downtown to show off, needless to say we got some strange looks and almost the same amount of pictures taken and complements. It was really cool because I natually have long hair but it is a dark brown unlike my character's so I had to get it what the lady called it "extream white". Which was a whole bunch of bleaching and shadowing to make my hair look naturally white. Anyways I was just wondering if anybody else ever thought about doing it? One thing for sure, we will most likely do it again Lol!!

Kool, as I've said in another thread already I'm getting my hair dyed white with black streaks in the summer. I have long hair so I can get it cut a bit like Dantes. Yeah, I know, I'm sad...

Well, I spent $60 on a Vash cosplay coat. It was made for me by a friend $50 for supplies, $10 to cover shipping costs, plus an art trade in profit-payment for the coat. (I sent her a mirror I painted Legato on) It was an art-trade thing... I was experimenting with glass painting at the time, and she's a cosplay design genius. (I can't sew!)

But, this was for going to AX, and much of my reason for wanting to cosplay Vash lies in accessories and natural features I already have. I have combat boots, leftover from an unfortunate military experience - so I already had suitable "Vash boots" covered, as well as black vinyl military gloves. My hair and eye colors match Vash's perfectly (natural features). I am a girl and my hair proved too long to get up into spikes (Hair gel just didn't hold it! I tried several times!), but... it's his color - and my eyes are naturally blueish-green like his.

But... so far, that's how far I've gone to try to look like an anime character. Not terribly far.

You'd be amazed at what eggwhites can do! And they're cheap!

Unless you count going to the gym, the answer is no. :P

Hmm, there are anime characters that I resemble, but I've never actually tried to look like them. I guess I could always get a red-streak and a mini skirt, then make everyone call me Ran Kotobuki ...

Never really 'consciously' tried to look like an anime character, but I did get rimless glasses when I had to get my prescription renewed this past time--specifically because I thought they looked cool on Seta and Keitaro from the Love Hina manga. :red:

I can Robin from Witch Hunter Robin really well. I dressed like her for Halloween this year and spent maybe 10 bucks. I used what I had to make it work. I seriously looked alot like her. My hair is her color so yeah, all I bought were some socks and a black jumper from the Goodwill. Maybe I shall post a pic when I get them developed.

Hmm.... during my highschool days... I never expected to look like an anime character. Back then I have a long wavy hair and bangs similar to Dilandau (Escaflowne). If I ponytailed my hair my front view is VERY similar to that guy. (minus the silver color)

I remembered my classmate pinpointing that I look like Dilandau... oh... yeah I'm proud

Not only I like anime, I looked like one, without even trying.

Bleh, but that was five years ago.....

When we were younger, Luke said that I look, dressed, and acted like Misty from Pokemon. XD But, uh, I don't really like the way she dresses. O.o;;; I hope he was kidding with that one.
I think that look better when I dress up as younger anime girls because I'm too skinny to be any of the older ones. XD
-But anyway- when I dressed up like Fina for halloween this year, I wore a plain white dress of my mom's, and went to wall mart to buy fabric to sew the rest by hand. XD They funny thing is, I thought I totally screwed up on that thing she wears on her head, but I had several people say that it was their favorite part of my costume. ^-^

Yeah, that was a wonderful costume! I loved that veil! We went together for Halloween, in case people are confused. I went as Princess Zelda, with a light pink underdress, a golden belt with her pattern-thing attached (I have no idea what it is called--it has the Triforce on it), a golden collar-thing, and white elbow-length gloves. I look nothing like Zelda. I'm too tan and meh hair is dark brown, so few people knew what meh costume was supposed to be. But one little kid who came to our door for candy said, "Nice Zelda costume." That little boy was the only one who recognized my costume. But I loved it anyway...

I don't even try and I look like Soujirou. It's freaky...I mean, when I first saw him, I kinda just stared for a while. My hair, eyes, everything...nearly exactly like him. And the bad thing is, I don't even like him...psyco boy. But, many people say I'm a psyco, simply because I like swords...infact, there's one lying across the computer chair above my legs right now. I could cut my stomach if I leaned forward far enough, but....I'm not going to do that, lol.

I don't think actually look like anyone, but I've been growing my hair for like a year now just so I can have a braid like Duo Maxwells and so all I have to do if I ever cosplay as Sesshoumaru (like I've been dreaming of doing for awhile now) is dye my hair. No crappy looking wig for me.

Yea, never consciously, but other than that, only in costume settings . . . I mean they're cool and all, but c'mon . . .
