I understand that Funimation has gotten the license for the popular fansub series Claymore.

If people want to discuss the licensing of this anime, they may do so here. If there isn't enough interest, let it drop.
The company website is here, but so far all they have is a trailer:
http://www.funimation.com/claymore/Myself, I'm fairly apathetic about this because the anime ended up being mediocre. It's a high quality production, but the story terminates poorly and it has none of the potential the manga may yet fulfill.

Anime followed the manga extremely closely up until the Pieta arc (and even some of that arc played out mostly the same).
But to be honest, I think the anime producers were pretty much in a no-win situation regardless. The series isn't really popular enough to get a second season somewhere down the line, and it was basically impossible to resolve any of the major issues in Claymore that are constantly hinted at, but never really went anywhere before the time skip.

According to Wikiepedia the announcment came on Feb.15 which if I remember is the MIDDLE of Feb. and not EARLY Feb.Since this is Season 1
and another season is said to be in the works I wonder if the deal also would include Season 2 if and when it comes out.

For me the story collapsed about... 6-7 episodes in... so... lack of interest. This is about the time our anime club all lost interest and voted it off our watch list.

If you weren't interested by that point, stopping was the right decision. Right now I'm still holding out for a plot twist that adds value to the entire series, but that seems less likely as the manga progresses. However, I enjoy the action and plotting (not so much in the anime) and I can't say it's much worse than other series I follow.
