So hard to choose favorites - at least a top ten list is a lot easier than just choosing one favorite. Even still, this list is kind of fluid. I would say only seven or so would show up every time you ask me to make this list. The others may change based on mood. Choosing the #1 anime for me is particularly hard... it's between one of two, and it's so hard to decide... I think the only separation between the two is that #1 comes to a satisfying conclusion.

Well, I'll count movies because I want to.
1. Cowboy Bebop (no, duh. and the movie counts as well.)
2. Gundam 08th MS Team (the only Gundam show I can watch anymore.)
3. Ghost in the Shell (the original, or Solid State Society.)
4. Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust (highest production values ever.)
5. Macross Plus (too few people have seen this.)
6. Black Lagoon (I hope that second season makes it Stateside.)
7. Blue Submarine No. 6 (action with drama, and it works!)
8. Samurai Champloo (no, not as good as Bebop, but hey.)
9. Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal (doesn't make the list if you watch in English.)
10. Scrapped Princess (the best fantasy anime nobody's seen.)
Ones that didn't make it would be Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin, Outlaw Star, Gundam Wing for nostalgic reasons, Tenchi in Tokyo/Universe/Ryo-Ohki123, Ah! My Goddess, Samurai X: Reflection, Hellsing, Love Hina, Escaflowne, and so on. I like most anime I bother to buy or rent, so the list gets pretty big. I can't actually think of many shows I've bothered to watch all the way through that I genuinely disliked. The only ones that come close would be Neon Genesis Evangelion, Witch Hunter Robin, and...uh...oh yeah, Chobits. God, if she says "chii" one more time I'll kill her myself.
