I know it was reported a year ago. I think I made a thread about it last year, when the news broke out, but never heard a word since then and it look like it was drop, untill now.

ICv2 first reported Nickelodeon Gets Anime-Mated in May of 2006, which had the news about Dom-kun being made in a series and that it would air on Nick.

I think they're both equally wonderful.

Hooray for Domo-kun! It's just too bad Nick is the one who's going to be showing him. *prays they don't try to Americanize him too much*

So, who's actually MAKING these things? Is Nick doing it themselves, or are they only showing them?

*prays for the second*

They won't. Nickelodeon is of the co-developer for this little two min- 26 ep series and why its being showed on Nick.

Here is what ICv2 reported in May of 2006

Nickelodeon has announced a deal with the Domo Production Committee to co-develop and produce 26 two-minute episodes of a series featuring the popular Domo-Kun character (the mascot of NHK, Japan's leading broadcaster). The American cable giant has also inked a pact with Polygon Pictures, a leading Japanese 3-D animation house to co-develop a new animated series based on Ira Ishida's manga, Akihabara@Deep.

Most people forgot about it and felt that it would have been showed on Nick by now.

They had at one time plan on making an animated series based on Ira Ishida's manga, Akihabara@Deep that Nickelodeon and Polygon Pictures, which is a Japanese 3-D animation house to co-develop.

Apparently they're also going to be showing a new Speed Racer series that will be shown about the same time the new film comes out.

Can't wait for both!!

This would be like Fox doing an animated series on their 'NFL Robot'. Domo-kun is like a station ID thing, right?

Next, we will see... the Monokuro Boo Anime Series!! Woo-Hoo!!

[font="Palatino Linotype"]Wow, go Domo-kun!
But...isn't Domo-kun a dog-thingy?

And will it use the Japanese honorifics in it, or what? I mean, Domo-kun is part of his name. If Nick takes it away, they'll be infringing on copyright laws, right?

Ah, well. I kinda expected Nick to air anime sometime or another. I mean, look at Avatar and (the horribly drawn) Kappa Mikey.

This could either be very funny or very bad. I just hope Nick doesn't catch the "4-Kids Syndrome". Which anime will they be showing, anyway? There isn't much that's completely appropriate for kids...but this is Nick we're talking about here.

Oh, look! I made a long post!

DOMO DOMO!
