Grenadier Vs. Trigun

OK, a friend commented to me how he saw a lot of similarities between Grenadier and Trigun a short while ago, and that got me wondering, who would win in a fight between Rushuna Tendou and Vash the Stampede? Opinions, anyone? And this is completely disregarding the fact that they would never get into a fight because they both try to find a peaceful solution to problems before resorting to violence.

Both are quite skilled a both shooting and not getting shot, so it would come down to luck.
In which case, it wiuld be Vash. Not because he is luckier (you could argue he's a lot less lucky), but the only way I see this being resolved is in some fanfic where the audience votes for the winner. In that case, Rushuna doesn't stand a chance.

I can see the scene now....
After sixty pages (I prefer the manga in both cases) of non-stop, wild, nearly undecipherable comic-book action, the smoke slowly clears, to reveal.
"I, Rushuna Tendo, am the one who... huh?"
"Yeah. Still here."
"Oh." Long pause. "Um... Vash?"
"Yeah?"
"What happened to the planet we were standing on?"

I think Rushuna would win against Vash for the plain and simple fact he would be distracted by Rushuna's...shall we say...most noticeable attributes. And I'm done.

That's a very good point. Rushuna does have the distraction edge going for her, but Vash has good reflexes, which are almost instinctive. So it would still be close.

I think everyone misses a key point here. Both Rushina and Vash don't like fighting.
They would meet, realize their similarities in beliefs, and then share a drink, and get married.
XD

Everyone realizes that, I'm guessing. But the OP's instructions said "disregarding the fact that they would never get into a fight..."
The offspring of a Vash & Rashuna wedding ... now there's a mind-warping image. (I'm picturing Rushuna's daughter with her father's hairdo)

Now I'm curious and will have to get Grenadier if I ever find it.

They'd both lose.
Because Revy from Black Lagoon or Train Heartnet from Black Cat would slaughter them both. Oh, and so would Rico from Gunslinger Girl, seeing that she's proficient with the SVD Dragunov. She could snipe Vash's and Rushina's brains out at the blink of an eye from hundreds of yards away. All three of these characters actually kill people, thus they would win.
Both Revy and Rico also don't use retarded "Custom-made" firearms, so more props to them.

Wolfwood would win. He'd just shoot the busty chick. Wolfwood is the man. Then he and Sven Vollfied would go get a drink. Sven is also the man.

Spike Spiegal would find a way to capture all of them and get a major amount of dollars.

Actually, early on, he used a 1911-style pistol. He also built a submachine gun into his suitcase. He's still the man, though, because he's an inventor who fights and cares for the people he loves.
After more thought, if it was a straight-up, all anime gunslinger battle, my money's on Millions Knives and Daisuke Jigen. Knives because he has equivalent skill to Vash, plus no respect for any life but his own and an Angel Arms that can eliminate a city full of people. Jigen because he's just incredibly good with whatever firearm he has. There's something to be said for a man who can quickdraw with a 4"-barreled revolver and shoot a rooftop sniper through the scope in one movement. I believe that negates your Dragunov.
Does it really matter anyway? No.

Can we get this back on topic, please? This is Grenadier and Trigun. Cowboy Bebob, and the other series people have mentioned are not included. Sorry.

We include them anyway because it's not fair for the other (and way cooler) anime characters. D:

I think you have to remember what Vash did in the episode Demon Eye on Trigun. He flirted outrageously with his female opponent while at the same time trying to figure out her moves.I think he would do the same thing here and get a good pinch in.

There's nothing in Cowboy Beebop that suggests Spike has any such talents. He failed to collect bounties on even the most mediocre of bad guys.
Rico would never get Vash with a sniper shot. He proved he was better than that in his own anime. Besides that, she'd never be able to get a bead on him when the light brigade chages in followed by the 5th column, the Dirty Pair, the entire cast of Galaxy Express 999, and everyone else who ever had a part in a TV show or movie who also was not included in the original parameters.

I thought this was going to be limited to Grenadier and Trigun. If we start to put other series in as well I would have to say Kirika and Mirielle would outdo everyone.
This is because of the way they work as a team on NOIR.

It was supposed to be Trigun and Grenadier, but some people decided to get it off track.

Yes, we hijacked your thread. =p
In any case, I'd vote for Vash, simply because Rusha seems like a character not worth having around. (Except that she's kind of pretty)

Hmm. Let's see . . . Humanoid typhoon versus fanservice with a gun?
I'm going with the only man considered on the same level as a natural disaster. Sorry, but M-cups won't help you against that kind of awesome.
However, that's only considering Vash and the fanservice girl. If we factored Knives in, my money'd be on him. Skill equivalent to Vash's, no regard for any life but his own, and a gun that can erase all life from an area the size of a small city. Knives would win.

Keep one thing in mind, Rai--Vash CAN be easily distracted. And Rushuna does offer quite an attractive distraction. Those M-Cups as you put it can actually come in handy...so to speak. Besides, I remember seeing the first episode on NewType USA--she does kinda put them to work reloading her gun in mid shot.

Hmm . . . that's a good point, although his distractability was rather exaggerated in anime-Vash as opposed to manga-Vash, IIRC. The spiky one was more competent all-around in the manga.
Also, the reloading trick would be humorous if it didn't disturb me so. That shouldn't be even physically feasible. Maybe if she used moon clips instead of loose ammo, but that would be painful to carry. I prefer a shoulder rig with slots for speedloaders or moon clips for a revolver, thanks. Of course, I am physically incapable of the Grenadier method [a fact that causes me to praise God all the harder], but still . . . Equilibrium's "magazines in the sleeves" method is much cooler, although it doesn't work with revolvers so well.
