The shortest series you've completed

Well, since there's a thread about the longest series you've completed, I thought it might be interesting to find out what the shortest series you've completed is. Movies don't count, or we'd all just sit around reciting Miyazaki films XP
For me, it would be Haibane Renmei, at 13 episodes. Wouldn't have it lengthened for the world; it's perfect the way it is.

Metal Angel Marie and Dragon Half are both two episode series each lasting about 50 minutes total. Those would probably represent the shortest series I've seen, assuming anything with only one episode isn't truly a series.

Well, when I 'finished' it, Runner Kuromi was only one episode. They released another since then, and I'm waiting on that in the Netflix queue!
For things that can legitimately be called series, though, I suppose Tetsuwan Birdy (aka 'Birdy the Mighty') at four episodes.

i have seen several "one-episode" animes, but other than that, the shortest anime i've seen is Paranoia Agent (13 episodes).

I can't be positive on this but I believe it would be FLCL with only 6 episodes!

So we aren't counting OVA's where there is just 1 episode?
If that's the case then I think Tales of Phantasia is the shortest I've seen. It's... 3 episodes I think. Amusing characters but the plot was way rushed (and it didn't help that I hadn't researched the game).
You know now that I think about it there are some series that are 24-26 episodes but the episodes themselves are only 10 minutes long. So are we talking shortest in terms of time length or in terms of number of episodes?

I suppose Voices of a Distant Star wouldn't count as that was an OVA.
But for a series, counting more then one episode, Bottle Fairy at 13.

I'll have to Fooly Cooly (AKA FLCL). The show is at 6 episodes.

Purely for the sake of arguement, I say we count a series as any Anime with 2+ episodes, single episode series/OVAs written off as short films.
That said, the Read or Die OVA, which I happily own. 3 episodes.

*FLCL
*Gatekeepers 21
*Please Save My Earth
I have also seen the first three episodes of another 6 episode series:
*Melty Lancer

Shortest series I've completed is probably FLCL, at six episodes.
The shortest series I've completed and have actually enjoyed is Air(TV), at 12 episodes (I don't count the 13th recap episode XD).
And actually, if we're counting 2 episode OVAs, Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal would be the shortest. And I did enjoy that one quite a bit. XD

Haibane Renmei. I don't own it, but I've seen it in whole. I so gotta buy it.

Puni Puni Poemi, at 2 episodes.
After that...Jungle De Ikou, Re: Cutey Honey, and Neo Getter Robo vs Shin Getter Robo (all 3 episodes)

Cat Soup: It was more or less a short movie. Only 30 minutes in length.
For an actual series, probably FLCL.

I'm joining the general consensus and say FLCL, but Nerima Daikon Brothers comes in a close second with 12 episodes, and Pilot Candidate comes in third with 13. All great series!

Scrapped Princess - 12 (13?) episodes, and like others have said, I wouldn't have changed it. It felt tightly woven and un-filler-fied.

I looked it up, and Scrapped Princess has 24 episodes.

Apocalypse Zero. It was two episodes. That's two episodes too long. Don't ever watch it.

Shortest anime is she and her cat which is one episode at 5mins by the guy who made boices of a distant star.
Since that doesn't count the shortest would be Rayearth and Read or Die OVAs. 3 episodes each.

Hmm... now we have to begin asking whether or not the
length of the episodes matters.
Macross Plus running time: 40 minutes.
Tetsuwan Birdy running time per ep: Half-hour (that's what ANN says. I recall them being standard TV length, which would be 24 to 26 minutes for a half-hour timeslot)
In other words, at 4 eps each, TB is between 25 and 40 percent shorter than MP.
Of course, the 24 episode Psychic Academy, at nine minutes per episode, is only 35 percent longer than MP! And Asagiri no Miko is less than twice the length of MP!
Why am I wasting so much time doing these calculations, you ask? I'm an engineer. Call it an occupational hazard.

Azumanga Web Daioh, being 4 minutes. That doesn't count though so Assemble Insert (an OVA), being two TV-length episodes, is the shortest anime I have watched. (Too short. I mean it!)

I take FLCL back... thats not the shortest I have seen!
Memories would have to be the shortest anime I have seen at 3 episodes long.

Shortest? It's a tie between FLCL and Gundam 0080; they're both six eps long.

FLCL for me too!

Grrl Power is one episode at 25 minutes. I'm counting it because it was actually taken for a longer running manga but never got past the lone episode.
