CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

A while back I discovered an interactive novel called "Ever 17 Out of Infinity" and it really peaked my interest. It looked like Choose your Own Adventure meets Anime/Manga! It even had the original Japanese voices! But it was rated Teen for Blood, Mild Language, Partial Nudity and Suggestive Themes. Now, I don't mind blood if it's appropriate and there's almost no way to get around a little language, but the other two really rubbed me the wrong way. I played the sample version, and while nothing bad really happened, it did seem to be subtlely suggesting something later on. I gave up on it and moved on, but lately I've been thinking about it and I'm so curious it's driving me crazy! I love novels, manga, anime, the Japanese language, well-developed stories, AND being able to choose what happens. This is like my dream game! But I do NOT want to get roped into it if it's gonna be a typical anime porn that happens to have an addictively good story. I need a Christian opinion. Has anyone played it who can tell me how bad the suggestive content is? I don't mind if you have to give me spoilers, just keep them to a minimum. Thanks!

Ah, yes, Ever 17. I loved Ever 17... made me cry. I only played through one path though, which took me about 3 days to complete. I can't really speak for anything aside from Tsugumi's path (and of course, the game over path XD;; ).

The game is EXTREMELY emotionally heavy. It will make you cry, it will keep you at the edge of your seat, and it will creep you out. The storyline is deep and intertwining. There is some bad language if I remember correct, but it's nothing you couldn't find in a T-rated PS2 or Xbox game. There is, at times, blood (especially towards the end of the game and in the game over ending). I can't recall any straightforward sexual content in the game, though. I've even seen all the CG's to the game, although I haven't played through it all.

I only wish I had played through all the paths, though, because I'd really like to be able to give a full recommendation for it. I don't believe there is anything really objectionable in it, though.

I mean, nudity is nudity. I just love complicated stories and I won't be able to let it go until I know exactly why I'm rejecting it... or preferably find out it's no big deal so I can go buy it! ^-^

Whew, 3 endings down, two to go. Heh, the last one I did took me about... 7 and a half hours to finish XD;;
