(Something's been bothering me for a while. Some VAs in the credits are listed by a different name than their own - they have aliases, it seems. Most of the time it's similar - Dave Lelyved is Dave Wittenberg, Richard Hayworth is Richard Cansino - and I think there are some completely different ones (I heard Vic Mignogna had one?), though I can't think of it. I'm not condemning this in any way, but I was wondering - why do they do this? I can't really think of any reasons, aside from just feeling like doing it, but that's not all that probable.)

It's not strange at all. I do most of my acting credited as Mark Wahlberg. ;)

One of the big reason for this is, union rules that the dubbing company has or did have.

Lets say voice actor Bob gets a contrack do voice work for Dubbing company A. Dubbing company A puts in the contrack that Bob's name can only be uses in that anime or with Dubbing company A.

Then if voice actor Bob gets hired to do a role for Dubbing company B. The only way that he can work for them is if goes by another that can listed to the credits , so voice actor Bob becomes voice actor Bradley for that anime or company.

There are some dubbing companies that don't have union and some have union status of right to work, which means, the voice actor has a right to work on or get hired to play a role from other dubbing companies.

Jeremiah Freedman is Joshua Seth and Georgette Rose is Michelle Ruff.Actually
Michelle Ruff was using her mother's maiden name when she worked as Georgette
Rose.
And let's not forget the fact that voice acting is not as crowded a field as other types of acting.

I know this is a video game where the alias appeared, but Jason Anthony Griffith (is that his real name?) who plays Sonic in Sonic X and all the recent Sonic games was credited in the new Wii game Sonic and the Secret Rings as Adam Caroleson.
