I've heard it was clean, then I've heard it was really fanservicey. I dunno...but I know the frequent questions about Anime has to get old sometime. What's that site that gives all the anime and manga ratings?

It is heavily fan-servicey, particularly as the show goes on. The trailer alone from one of my Pioneer discs was quite startling. Myself, I would have a hard time recommending the series (a shame, because the art style and music are both very good).

What about Wandaba Style? I'm looking for some good anime, that's cheap...

Na I wouldn't see it nor recommend it. I've heard only the first three episodes are good then it takes a dive into being a fan service filled trash fest. It's been discribed as an cheap Love Hina rip off. But I haven't see Love Hina either because of all I've heard about it also.

LIES

It's an awesome series any fan of anime should check out. It's fan servicey but not aweful and it's really about an engaged couple and the temptations involved.

Awesome show to watch with a boyfriend/girlfriend.

Unfortunately, I agree a lot with Shooraijin on this. It is one of my favorite shows, however. The relationship between Kaoru-soma and Aoi is one of the most mature relationships I've seen in anime. He's actually not a goofball idiot like Keitaro in Love Hina and Aoi has so much character and strength for a female character it's admirable. The horrible problem with this show is that they got too into the crazed Tina character who is pre-occupied with grabbing women in... certain areas and then they had to go overboard on this. Urgh, it was irritating. If you can get past that it's one of the best couple shows out there, but the anime is definitely ruined by that. Although, by the last couple of discs in the series Tina calms down and they get much deeper into the story. It really is a sweet story and if it wasn't for the Tina character it would be so fantastic. I'd really hate for people to miss this wonderful show of a good and honorable relationship because of that one screwy character. I don't know how much I can tell you to get past disc two and three and Tina's problems and just enjoy the beautiful show and music of Ai Yori Aoshi. I'm looking forward to the next series which should be coming out this year.

The basic plot, such as it is, goes like such; Aoi, the protagonist, has always dreamed of marrying her friend Kaoru, now a student with a Deep Dark Secret(tm), even though they've been separated for years. The story basically starts off with her trying to find him, bumping into him by chance in the train station and moving into his house, ostensibly in preparation for marriage, and goes on from there.

And, it's how Aoi and Kaoru fall in love with each other as the show progresses. It's very romantic, but again, refer to my comments before I posted this. I stand by the comment I made that Aoi is one of the best female characters, next to Tohru Honda of Fruits Basket, in anime. It really is a sweet show by the last two discs.
