Hey I've been looking for an anime I've seen in NewType but I can't remember the name of it. All i know is that the main characters are like these warrior nuns or something. But if there is any sexual content I'd rather not. Thanks hombres

Well, there's Chrono Crusade (there's a review for it I believe in the anime review section on this site) and then there's Trinity Blood that's pretty new...
Also another nun series out, but it's probably not it, because I don't think they are really "warrior" nuns :/ That one is definately not a reccomendation though.

Chrno Crusade is about a nun named Rosette Christopher who travels across 1920s America with her demon partner, Chrno, in search of Rosette's little brother, Joshua, and the demon who kidnapped him, Aion.

Very good series, and very VERY little sexual content.

No one sees the theological problems with a nun working alongside a demon?
Hmm...

I don't think anyone in this thread condones the idea, no. Doesn't mean they won't chalk it up to the Japanese's misunderstanding of our religion and still enjoy the show regardless, though.

I don't watch Chrono Crusade, but I think that's the general consensus on the boards for those who do watch the show. XD;

I'm not offended. It's not like this is the first time that Japan has dabbled in stuff like this. I personally don't prefer Chrono Crusade and when I first so it in Border's I though "Sweet, a Chrono Trigger manga!"

ugh...

I don't chalk it up to anything uniquely Japanese, butt-kicking clergy is hardly a concept original to them.

Well, I meant the whole nun/demon thing and the messy theology in that series. You know, the whole "twisted theology since the Japanese think Western ideals are cool", etc.

Which isn't unique to Japan. How many American series do you see that take Greek or Roman or Norse mythology and completely botch it just because it sounds cool? Yeah, a lot.

Oh, come on guys, quit being so literal. XD We all know that lots of anime do this kind of thing. I'm not referring to something with Greek or Norse mythology, I'm referring to Chrono Crusade and the other anime series that have "Christianity" as a main theme or backdrop. Besides, the fact that it isn't unique to Japan is completely beside the point. I know it's not unique to Japan, what I'm saying is that it's used in lots of anime, which is unique to Japan.

Didn't think my little post would be so misunderstood. XD;

Popping in to give my usual Chrno Crusade advice - if you're considering following the series, I'd reccommend reading the manga as opposed to watching the anime, as it's slightly less theologically "off". Ontop of that, I found the manga to be better executed overall - one of my favorites. ^^
