Steamboy has good animation, but that's about it. It's a watered-down version of Akira (but doesn't work in Steamboy). AKira is much better

Akira
Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust
Blood: The Last Vampire
Princess Mononoke
My Neighbor Totoro
Nausicaa
Spirited Away
The Cat's Return
The Animatrix
Darkside Blues
Cowboy Bebop movie
Ghost in the Shell
Ghost in the Shell 2:Innocence
Memories
Escaflowne movie
Steamboy
Ninja Scroll
Metropolis
Grave of the Fireflies
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
Final Fantasy VII:Advent Children
Appleseed (2004)
Spriggan
Voices of a Distant Star
The Place Promised In Our Early Days
Jin-Roh
Karas: The Prophecy
Gundam Wing Endless Waltz
Gundam Char's Counterattack
Gundam F91
Inu-Yasha movie 3
Patlabor movie
Street Figter Alpha

The Akira movie sucked. I'm sorry. There were too many problems with the plot, mainly because it wasn't developed enough. They basically took only 1/4th of the entire 6 volumes of the manga series (which is amazing and much better than the movie) and suppressed it into a single movie. They should have made it like a Trilogy or something.

As for Paprika, it's something I'm dying to see.

I'll only list the ones I've seen in full. I've seen bits and pieces of some Miyazaki movies that I never finished.

Castle in the Sky (favoriiite)
Howl's Moving Castle (It was pretty good. The dub acting was superb. o_o)
Spirited Away(I enjoyed it.)
Whisper of the Heart (I liked it enough to buy it.)
Millennium Actress (Very, very good.)
The Place Promised in Our Early Days (Also very, very good.)
Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' On Heaven's Door (Pretty good.)
Escaflowne (Movie) (I really enjoyed it. :D)
Samurai X--Trust and Betrayal Director's Cut (Ok, so technically it's an OVA, but I still count it as a movie. XD Incredibly good, though.)
InuYasha: Affections Touching Across Time (Saw it on TV. Eh.)
InuYasha: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass (Same as above. Eh.)
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (Well, I guess it kind of counts as anime. XD Anyways, it was good, not great.)

I think that's all of them. I'll post more if I remember them, though. :thumb:

is the manga as graphic as the movie? the reason i'm asking this, is because i can handle most graphic violence in mangas, but not animes. it may be because there's sound effects, background music, and characters screeming, that make violence and stuff in animes harder to handle. that's just for me though...

Everything by Miyazaki. Multiple times.

No, I mean, everything he's ever directed, ever. Sometimes within the space of the day.

Oh yeah, Millenium Actress, Ghost In A Shell Two, a couple of others like that. But really man...Miyazaki first and foremost.

sheehs, here we goes:

Macross: Do You Remember Love?-Favorite Movie/Anime/Anime Movie, EVER!!! Favorite soundtrack, characters, mecha designs and everything wrapped in a movie that took 20 production studios to accomplish and still looks great today. I will never forget Minmei's battle sequence, favorite anime moment ever!!!

Blood: The Last Vampire-This was OK, the animation was nice but not enough time was developed to the plot and characters, almost felt like watching the last half of a two hour movie.

Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz-Never much of a gundam fan, thought this was alright but some things just seemed silly. Spent like 2 hrs just for them to get their mechs backs, and then at the end "okay everyone, lets make sure to disable the enemy gundams, really, its possible with uber-innacurate giant machine guns" yeah....right.

Ghost in the Shell-Classic, 'nuff said

Ghost in the Shell 2: Innonence-Amazing amazing amazing visuals, and not much more. I almost fell asleep through the lackluster plot and zero action sequences. Also I just don't see 2 rough and manly cops quoting so much poetry.

Princess Mononoke-Great Miyazaki classic, I love this movie. It always annoyed me though its called Princess Mononoke and yet you always see the prince on the cover (?) Mononoke riding the wolve's is just amazing to watch.

Howl's Moving Castle-This had great production values, but I'm not sure I would've taken a second pass if it wasn't Miyazaki.

Castle of Cagliostro-I heard this was the only good Lupin movie, not sure about the others but this was one heck of a ride.

The Place Promised in our Early Days-A little slow paced, but it just lets you soak up Makoto Shinkai's masterful animation style even more.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within-I know everyone said this movie sucked, bad enough that it bankrupted Square Pictures on their first movie giving squaresoft a loss of $100million+, but I just like it for some reason.

Final Fantasy: Advent Children-Great fights and visuals, not much else. People drool over this way too much, its not a masterpiece, its like a Star Wars fan who thinks "The Phantom Menace" is classic cinema. You took some of the most classic VG characters ever had about this much character dynamics:

Cloud-"WASSUP VINCE?"
Vince-"Just watchin the game, havin a bud"
Cloud-"Dere be some wack bad guys over dere, lets killz 'em!
Vince-"True dat!
Tifa-"WAIT WAIT I want an action sequnce too!"
Yuffie-"Just be thankful you got something! The only thing I got was to do was toss Cloud an extra few hundred feet into a dragon for the most ridiculous action sequence ever"
Barret-"Was I even in the movie?"

The End of Evangelion-One of my favs, the end of the world never looked so disturbingly beautiful. Asuka kicked mucho budie.

Cowboy Bebop: Knockin on Heaven's Door: I wasn't expecting alot more from a movie carrying the Bebop title, it was a decent movie, and had a fantastic ending fight sequence, but I felt like it was lacking the charm of the series, certain lack of the "big meanie"= :(

Pokemon: Mewto Strikes Back-Hey, back then Pokemon was "cool" it took me another few months to realize how utterly retarded this series is. Death to all of them!

Grave of Fireflies-The director got the point across well, well enough that I won't buy this movie, it was too strong maybe, strong enough so I have no need to watch it again. Seriously, what kinda of man is gonna be like "Hey Guys, lets go watch Grave of Fireflies!"

Escaflowne: The Movie-This had so many great things, awesome animation, likeable characters (for the most part) story, battle sequences. I thouroughly enjoyed this work.

Trust and Betrayel-What can we say? Only the most heart-wrenching two hour production ever. A teary-eyed love story, blood curdling battles and music that will haunt you long after the credits roll, just perfection.

Little Nemo: Adventures in Wonderland- I forgot about it until I read it on another list, I watched it like 12 years ago, not sure really what it was about but it sparks a fond memory.

Beyblade: The Movie-I bought this for my brother, I wanted to puke at how bat it was, i'd call it lamest anime ever, but Strike Witches takes that place.

Well, of course Rolf agrees! XD He enjoys movies of good quality, not movies that leave half the fanbase unhappy (why was Yuffie's part so small? Why didn't Red XIII have more than one line? Why did this movie remind me of a really long Dirge of Cerberus commercial??). XD
