Just like the subject says: Is it worth investing in this series. I found it for sale here, and I was thinking about getting it. What do you guys think?

It's pretty interesting, but it's so... darn... happy in the beginning. I got bored of it midway, so I just stopped watching it.

I'm at work right now, so I can't really access any special websites. Would someone mind giving me a quick breakdown of it and how many episodes?

Ah! My Goddess tv series: 26 episodes. This one is licensed by Media Blasters.
Then you have the sequel to the tv series called Ah! My Goddess: Everyone Has Wings. Which is now licensed by ADV Films.

I like it. It's a nice romance anime, though Mr. Smarty Pants is right that it is really happy, I thought it managed to be sweet without being saccharine. If you like a reasonable more male-oriented romance story and can deal with something that is very...cute is probably the best word, then you would probably like this.

I thought the romance was pretty fake and superficial at times.
Oh look let's live together! Oh I'll be that incredibly fake and plastic 100% faithful lover that folds the laundry sitting on my knees! Oh I will make tea! Oh yay! Oh you can sleep on my lap!
The girl is characterized as an "male anime fan's perfect dream-girl" that's totally sweet, loyal, submissive, down-to-earth, adorably clumsy. I don't find Belldandy to be realistic at all. There wasn't that much interesting things going on. Thus why I stopped watching. But I think you'd like it.
Though I must say it's pretty funny. (Lots of spoofs off of companies, such as McDonalds and 20th Century Homes)

Episode 1 is mainly the set up,the real beginning though is episode 2.

I suppose it's a good series. I love the manga, and the five episode OVA was one of my first real anime, so I love it.
But I dunno...they were showing the first four episodes of the TV series at Otakon, and I fell asleep during it. It just wasn't as interesting as the manga or OVA. So, I guess it's worth a purchase, because maybe it gets better after the first four episodes.

It does get better after the first few episodes, in my opinion. It started off slow, but once they had established the groundwork and began bringing in more characters it did get more interesting.

because of Belldandys attitude makes most of the funny and interesting things in the show work.

Ah. Well, I guess it was boring to me because I already knew how everything started. XD;; But it still seems like nothing got accomplished in those episodes. I'll have to watch the series past that point, I guess.

Okay, I'm sold! I just need to know one thing--
How many episodes come on each DVD? If it's 4+ episodes, I'll get it! Anything less, I think not!

The titles of the episodes (except the first) all begin with "Ah!", like "Ah! Taking An Examination of Love, Starting with A Deviation Value of 30!" (Yes, that's the title of Episode 8, picked for its amusement value). I'm not sure what bearing that has on the discussion at hand, but I think that's what mitsuki lover is referring to.

Ah! I get it now! I think it's at Wal-Mart, so I'll have to get to work finding it. I REFUSE to pay anything over $25 for one DVD! How about the V/A's? Any familiar names I should listen out for?

I look and I can't find one V/A name that I hread of.
I haven't watch too many animes that were release by AnimeWorks. AnimeWorks release Ah! My Goddess under their other name, Media Blasters and they used NYAV Post for the ADR Production.

I just started getting this series from Netflix along with Evangelion and while I wasnt crazy about this at first, I think its pretty great now. It is pretty funny. I like it and will probably buy this series along with Evangelion seeing how Im getting impatient waiting for the next disc in the series to come.

This is one of my most favorite series ever. I have the re-released movie (with 5.1 surround sound) and the collector's edition 3-disc OVA set, but I don't have enough money right now to buy the TV series (I have watched it twice, though; borrowed it from a friend).

It's the same company that did Rurouni Kenshin,at least the Kyoto arch.
Not sure that it really matters about the VAs.The dub is pretty good, haven't seen the sub yet as far as I can recall.

It doesn't.
Yes, AnimeWorks did the release of RK, but they used Bang Zoom! Entertainment for the ADR Production.

Yeah, Bang Zoom is in California. NYAV Post is in New York. I recognize Marc Diraison (Guts in Berserk, Zoro in One Piece) in the cast list. Not so much any of the others as I'm not that familiar with east coast actors.

Well, today is Payday, and after all is paid and done, I'm going to invest in the first DVD!
Any last minute things I should know about the series before I bite the bullet?
