CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

This spawned from an ongoing observation that us girls often differ on the kind of female anime character we like. I'm just really curious, not trying to bash anyone's choice!

It seems I like anime girls who are innocent, but not ditzy or clumsy. I also can't stand it when the girl is portrayed as totally helpless or stupid. They have to have a degree of independence themselves, or at least not extremely reliant or clingy. They can't be highly emotional either. Weepy girls are not cool! :d There are exceptions, but that's the basic gist of it.

I like girl characters that are cute, shy, smart [read allot of books] and maybe have some painful memories. That’s my ideal girl character. I don't like airheads, girls that are unnecessarily noisy or are really happy/perky.

My fave anime gals are Akane (Ranma 1/2), Kiyone (Tenchi), Hilde (Gundam Wing)...just any gal that is tough, but sometimes shows her sweeter side. Tomboy-ish, I guess. And when they have a temper, 'tis kinda funny XD Just as long as they're not jerky all the time, lol

I don't like girl characters who dress slutty. :[ Even if it's just for fanservice, and the girl herself is perfectly nice, it ticks me off.

Other than that, it really depends. I don't really like most of the girl characters in anime. Miyazaki does a good job, though.

I like girl characters who are tough and slightly malicious/somewhat evil and scheming. Also should have a degree of randomness and spunk.
