Make your 2007 anime predictions!

With the new year approaching, here's what I predict will happen:
  1. Disney will pull the necessary strings to get Gedo Senki here
  2. FUNimation channel will be available in every state by the end of the year. In fact, I think they'll even stream their shows in order to promote the network.
  3. Cartoon Network will air the Death Note anime, which will be carried by Viz.
  4. Spike TV will air more than just Afro Samurai. Come on, it's only 5 episodes, from what I hear.
  5. Cartoon Network wil FINALLY stop airing FLCL. I think they've finally played it to death.

So what do you think will happen next year in anime?

I think that the HNK series who are launching a array of different chapter remakes of the original series will try to construct a total remake of the series.

A few anime games seem to be on their way.

Other than that I am fairly out of suggestions.

1.After enough fans complain G4 will finally start to bring back Anime Unleashed
but this won't happen until the very end of '07.

2.AS will fail to get the rights to air The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya on tv but instead will go for another lame original cartoon series.

3.Spike will get the rights to air Gungrave and R.O.D.The Tv after AS stupidly
passes on them after G4 shows no interest in renewing their rights.

4.I will get more DVDs(the only prediction I can guarentee to come true)including
Slayers and Please Teacher.

Gedo Senki/Tales from Earthsea will earn Studio Ghibli another Oscar nomination (hopefully another win).

Rebuild of Evangelion will spark a revival of interest in theatrical anime (HORRAH!!!) and revitalize the industry of ogling Rei and Auska (BOOOO)

Afro Samurai and the new season of Boondocks will do well enough to encourage more anime productions with American ties. To be honest, though, I doub't it'll be a good thing.

Kino's Journey be belatedly picked up for American TV and become a breakaway raitings smash (yeah right, I wish)

Death Note will be dubbed by 4kids and will be renamed "Hurt-Badly-But-Not-Killed Note".

I really hope not. I don't like the sounds of AS airing that. plus it wouldn't be received well similar to paranoia agent.

Okay, lets see if I'm right on these.

I predict will happen in the world of anime in 2007:

Adult Swim will get the rights to air Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shambala and I say they will air it in the Summer.

AS will keep showing FLCL and Cowboy Bebop on TV in 2007.

Adult Swim will get the rights to air Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya may make it for the AS fall lineup.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society movie will be release here in the states and Adult Swim will get the tv rights to it and will air it in the summer or fall.

Macross being a big hit for ADV Flims. ADV will buy the other Macross series and do another great dub cast for them. I think Macross Zero will be one that they try to pick up.

FUNimation wil finally put BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad on dvd in 2007.

D. Gray-man and Death Note will be licensed in 2007.

I think ADV will get one and FUNimation will get the other one.

Anime Unleashed will not come back and G4 will finally tell anime fans, no anime for you! in 2007.

What is left of G4 programing, will move to another channel and G4 will be gone by the end of the year.

Escaflowne will make a come back on TV and it will be the real version and not the cut and paste version that Foxkids did.

Hellsing OVA, death Note, G. Gray-man, BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya will be the big hit of the year in 2007 and it will show at anime cons in 2007.

Why would ADV get a Shonen Jump anime?

Anyway:
I predict Viz will license Death Note and get it shown on Adult Swim.
I predict Viz will possibly license Hunter X Hunter (come on, the show's not getting any younger).
I predict Viz will license Eyeshield 21 and put it on Toonami Jetstream.
I predict Digimon Savers will be licensed by Bandai.

They could if they put more money on the table then Viz or FUNimation.

But Viz could get one of them, but they have been getting other titles as of late that I think they may have to cool it a bit, but ADV has been buying anime like crazy as of late.

So, if anything. FUNimation could get Death Note as for D. Gray-man, who knows.

Death Note was licensed a month ago. We just don't know by who yet.

But I'm pretty certain Viz has it.

After the conclusion of its seventh season, Hamtaro will finally lose popularity in Japan and get cancelled like it did after its second season here.

Okay, I found this.

wikipedia wrote:Death Note was eventually licensed for North American publication by VIZ Media,[1] and the first English language volume was released on October 4, 2005

Has anyone pick it up or even seen it for sell?

I did find out that its plan to air on TV here.

Ah, okay. Now that sounds clear now.

I can't find anything on ANN that says that Death Note has been pick up.

"Sleep Note" makes it sound almost creepier! Oh, and Beck is already licensed for 2007, folks!

I don't actually consider this likely to come true, but the thing about making really wild predictions is that if you're wrong, nobody cares, and if you're right, you look like a genius.

So I'm going to predict that before the end of 2007, Adult Swim still stop showing anime altogether and a new, less lengthy anime-devoted block will take up a spot on CN's schedule.

*Gasps and gaping stares*

Oh, and I also predict Honey and Clover will be licensed and an Initial D Fifth Stage will be announced.

1. I predict that the Naruto fillers will FINALLY end.^^
2. I predict that both the Buso Renkin and Death Note animes will be licensed and shown on Adult Swim.
3. I predict that Adult Swim will stop airing InuYasha.
4. I predict that VIZ media will get up to at least vol. 25 of the Bleach manga.

So, that means its not licensed yet. ANS is the most non trust anime news site and I check ANN for old Death Note news and got nothing that has or will be licensed here in US.

I wouldn't use ANS or trust them that much. I mean, they said back in early fall that The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was going to be licensed and there was nothing on any other anime news web site to say that it had.

Just now, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya has licensed.

Beck is already licensed for 2007, folks!

Yeah, but it was licensed way back in late spring or summer of this year. It's just taking them too darn long to put out there.

People who attended the Viz panel at France's MIPCOM say that Viz announced that they have the worldwide license.

So that helps my theory.

Actually TMOHS is going to be licensed now.I think Bandai has it.

As far as G4 goes,I think we ought to distinguish G4techtv Canada from G4 U.S.
G4techtv Canada is in fact airing Anime.

As far as my own predicitons,as I said I can only guarentee that I will buy more
DVDs.

More predictions:

*Rumiko Takahashi will near the final chapter of the Inuyasha manga.

*Afro Samurai will make Spike decide to try to resurrect their adult cartoon
block of a few years back, this time using anime.

*Toonami will air the Zatchbell movie

*Fullmetal Alchemist:The Conqueror of Shambala will air later in '07,probably around Septmeber or November.

*After replacing Inuyasha for about two weeks in the Summer dropping ratings at the 12:30 a.m. slot will force AS to bring it back.

*Kohaku will be the one to kill Naraku in the manga.

You mean to tell me that Viz announced the rights of an anime at Con that deals in AudioVisual Content Market?

If they did, that is the most mess up announced in the history of anime. Why not wait for an anime con.

But why hasn't any other anime news webpage talk about this or the fansubs been pulled?
