FMA dubs

I was just wondering how many people like the FMA dubs. I like them, but I sometimes feel alone in that opinion.
Also, how do people like the artwork in FMA? I think it has REALLY good artwork, for a TV show, and the movie's artwork is AMAZING.

Well, I generally like dubs anyway, just since I like not having to both read the dialog
and watch the action at once (^_^), but I REALLY like the FMA dub. I tried the original, but the voices just seemed weird to me, like they didnt't fit the characters. Especially Ed -- I
love his voice in the dub, but in the original...Wasn't it voiced by a girl? That'd explain it.
Anyway; yes, I greatly enjoy and prefer the dub, too. As far as the artwork, yes, I like it as well. It's seems simple, and yet for a television show it's pretty detailed. Heh, I just love this show overall -- it's at my number one slot on my list of favorites right now! XD

I think the dub in FMA is better than the sub. And, yes, the artwork IS amazing. I think the whole series(not that's Ive watched it all
) is very beautiful.

I am a fan of Dubs but just to let ya know this thread is doomed to be locked. Only because the dubs vs subs is a touchy subject. I Love the art work too. Bones is always top notch artwork just look at Rahxphon,Wolfs Rain and Angelic layer for proof

i saw ONE episode of dubs. i thought it was okay. that might be because i had recently finished the subbed series and was used to the subs. anyways, the artworks very shounen-like. the area of art that amazed me was the automail. with all the screws and pieces, it looked extremely complex.

Yeah, this is a bit walking on eggshells here, but I think if we don't turn it into a dub vs sub thing, we will be okay.
As for IMO, I can watch both. But I'm a fan of the dub more and as everyone knows, I'm a big fan of most of the dub voice actors in this one and I like to give more support to the chirstian voice actors that are in FMA.
As for the art, yes its very good, but I don't think its one of bones very best.
But when Bones and Gonzo are the ones doing the animation production, you know that the art is going to be good, most of the time.

Well, I've only seen one episode of the sub, and while I thought it was good (Al was ADORABLE), I'm far more used to the dubbed version, which is actually quite well done. No over-enthusiastic VAs, no old Kung-Fu-movie-style lip synching, and everything sounds very smooth. The artwork is very crisp, clean, and smooth, which is the way I prefer it to be. Though I've seen other anime in which the animation is what I consider to be better than FMA's *coughAIRcough*, I still like the style in which FMA is drawn.

Since the only way to see the sub is to buy the DVD I have to say I have only seen the dub on AS so can't judge wheter or not it is better or just equal to the
sub.

I agree with you 100%.
Also Mitsuki, you could watch the subbed version of FMA at
http://www.youtube.com. It has fansubs of the show.

Normally, I tend to prefer subs. I have nothing against dubs, it's just that I want to get as close to the original as I can. Hagaren is blessed, however, in that most of the English voice-actors were already fans of the show before it was dubbed, and talented to boot, so the English dub is very much a work of love for the show. While there are rare instances were I've preferred the dub of a show more (Fruits Basket, Betterman) Hagaren is the only anime I know where I derive equal enjoyment from the dub and sub.
True story:
The place: AX2006. I talked to Vic Mignogna about being a Christian, and we shared a little moment. He signed my novel, wrote "Col 3:23" on it, quoted the scripture in Ed's voice (which was really awesome), and I had to leave the keep the line moving. My brother was also in that line, and Vic told him that of all the people he's met at cons, we're the only ones to ask him for his favorite scripture, and we're now his favorite fans.

I tend to be anti-dub with almost everything. (As in dubbing something that was already once dubbed. Every animation is dubbed, lets face it) Not because dubbing is BAD. But I think stuff should be watched how they were originally made ya know? Movies, anime, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, German, whatever.

Whoa. o_O I thought I was going to be about the only one who likes the dubs to FMA, considering the fact that most people tend to hate dubs.

I do understand your point on that. I can watch both sub and dub and really, it doesn't matter to me.
But you do have to take in one thing. People that are anime fans that have eye or reading problems and can't follow subtitles.
That is the only thing that I just wish others would take in count to and we don't want to turn away anyone that wants to be an anime fan.
