I'd say it might be a bit much for a 13 year old, perhaps give it a couple of years. Our review (http://www.christiananime.net/reviews.php?display=92) covers the series very well, and although much of the age questions depend on the individual, in general I think that most 13 year olds shouldn't be watching this series quite yet. It's a bit too intense violence-wise at parts and there is some strange religious content, although nothing I found exceptionally objectionable, simply something I think you should wait a bit before seeing. This series is one of my favorites, and I would highly recommend you watch it once you get a bit older.

Not meaning to be rude, but that is a DND title here. On topic, I would say no for a 13 year old. Violence is a factor, but another is simply how psychologic and confusing the series can be. It can be very intense at times. Also, I'm 20 years old and I had to watch some episodes twice to understand everything because things were so complex. I think it's a bit too complex for a thirteen year old to really get the most out of it.

If he's asking whether Rahxephon is ok for a 13 year old then I deffinetly don't think watching Evangelion would be a good idea for him. I own both and Evangelion's content is deffinetly more mature.

I think it really comes down to if your parents and you yourself think you are mature enough. The violence is really only graphic in maybe 2 or 3 episodes I can't quite remember it's been awhile. But yeah like others said the religious content is deffinetly more something to be worried about.

Ok reposting about content.

Violence: Not a big issue not to graphic just blue blood from the aliens.

Sexuality: Some minor fanservice in 1 episode on. The episode has them on a beach so there is fan service. And there is nudity on one episode near the end. Quon is shown nude from behind close up and from the front at a distance no details really visible.

Language: A few uses of the Lords name in vain maybe 3 times in all. Other than that there is maybe a few S***'s and B***h's.

Religious content: Some say there is some but I wasn't bothered by it at all.

RahXephon, as previously mentioned, doesn't step into really any dangerous territory content-wise; it's just that the overall plot and some of themes and other such things represented are very deep or philosophical or rather mature in nature. That's what I'd say. But then hey, every kid is different; if they're the more intellectual type or find the above-mentioned things appealing, then I'd say it's up to your discretion and how well you know the person in question :-) Excellent and very powerful show though for sure!

Everyone seems to forget the one ep where Ayato goes into the "dreamy" dimension thing, and he's with Haruka and it's a kinda... yeah part :/ As for the RahXephon MOVIE yeah, there's a scene in there, and nudity (if you were wondering about that one too). Same nudity as in the first one with Quon.

But yeah, don't think it would be the best for someone of 13... heh and as meboeck said, it takes a couple watches to get it^^ Well, then again I was about 15 or so when I first saw it.

I would say it depends on how mature you are. My sister is 14 and I let her watch both Samurai XL Trust and Betrayal and FLCL however she is VERY mature for her age. In fact, she may of been 12 or 13 when she watched Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal and that's 100x more violent then RahXephon.

Sexuality wise, save for the OVA, it's pretty clean. The only thing that is iffy is in DVD 3 but Ayato, to me, chose the right thing to do in that situation. Evrey now and then is a slipup but it's nothing to "whoa....fan service". Depending on how violent you like your series, this is that bad. Sure there is alot of blood but it's blue. And from organic robots. The language isn't truly bad but that's why subtitles are there for if you watch it via DVD. The only thing is it can get very confusing and dream-like however I do not want to insult your intellegence by saying "you won't understand it cause you are 13."

If you can go to Youtube.com, watch these two AMV's which, to me, portray RahXephon brilliantly.

"Euphoria" by Frou Frou
"Garden of Everything" by Maaya Sakamoto ft. Steve Conte

Hmmm I LOVE Euphoria and Frou Frou's Must Be Dreaming" and I LOVE the song "Garden of Everything" but I wasn't the happiest with the visuals... :/ Personally, I'd rather see more of
Haruka and Ayato coupleness^^
plus, since it had clips of the end, is kinda... spoilerish.

It can get violent and bloody at times. The bloodiest episode I can think of is the one where Ayato battles the Dolem that comes from Asahina's Egg,except he doesn't realize until the very end he's really fighting her.The episode segues between the battle and Asahina in their hotel room.It shows her getting cut up as
Ayato hits into her Dolem, and their is blood freely flowing. For this reason and also because of the Beach Scene from an earlier episode I would say generally to wait
until you were 15 or so to watch it.

Yeah but put yourself into the shoes of someone who has never seen the series or even read anything about it and for all they know, the ending clips could be the first episode, ya know?

I love the Euphoria AMV though. It'sa so well done. There are very few Rah amv's.

I'm older than 13, and although I've not seen the complete series, it took a lot of reading up and discussing RahXephon with my sister to completely understand the series. In my opinion, RahXephon would go completely over a 13-year-old's head.

1.I don't know how to use them
2.They were examples of why RahXephon is rated 15+
3.You have to be evenhanded when stating things like that
