does anyone watch igpx? it is not like other american animes, because the artwork is MUCH better. I really like it. I am surprised it is not on adult swim right now, because the 2nd season has some bad language, including f*g, and bit*h. Good show though. :thumb:

I've seen both seasons so far.Tonight is the season 2 finale where the race between Teams Satomi and White Snow will be decided although consdering the way White Snow cheats to win it's easy to see why all the other teams are rooting
for Satomi this season.

I remember the original Toonami Giant Robot Week "micro-series" and had high hopes for the full-length version. I saw a couple of episodes early in season one and was disappointed, as it seemed the difference between Toonami then and Toonami now had resulted in it becoming a rather shallow work targeted at younger audiences. Plus, it was on at an inconvenient time for me, and while we still own a VCR, we've used it so little over the past few years that something in my rebels at the very thought of taping something. I resolved I'd see if my initial impression was accurate or not at some later date when it was more convenient to do so.

I'm interested to hear that the series has apparently taken a more "hardcore" turn in season two. While I don't approve of the vulgar language for the most part, of course, I hope this is a sign that the show has moved away from the " programming for a younger audience with a shorter attention span not interested in putting much thought into their entertainment" archetype it seemed to fit into early on. It was an interesting concept, at any rate (Gundam meets the Tour de France, sort of). Once there are some cheap DVDs available I may check it out.

Regardless of my personal opinions about the show's quality, however, IGPX must be hailed as a milestone in the development of "American anime" - perhaps the title most worthy of that label so far, created by Japanese studios on the commission of an American network.

Edit: Well, here we go. *Adds disc 1 to his Netflix queue.*

Only five discs so far, I see. How long is each season?

There's a character named Fantine Valjean?

That has to count for something.

I believe Toonami is broadcasted in Japan as well as CN.

It's a co-production.
Interesting how Takashi and Liz ended up becoming a couple.

I have injoyed watching the show I just wish they would stop this schedule changing on CN. I tried to watch it last night but kept nodding out on it. At least I recorded it to watch it again.
I start watching a show and get interested in it and then I have to find it again to keep up with whats happening.

Wikipedia says IGPX had its timeslot changed because it was getting weak ratings.

Nope, it was so the characters could get away with profanity. I should know, I reviewed the first season. Actually, I wish the mods would change the review to reflect this change.
