S-CRY-ed Speculation SPOILERS

Seeing as how this is one of my favorite anime of all time, I noticed a few things; near the end, when Kanami is giving her monologue shortly before she turns into a butterfly, she said that was the last dream she had of those two people, which brings me to my point; were Kazuma and Ryuhou actually fighting, or were they dead? Were they being kept alive and in existence by Kanami?

Ok this post will have spoilers as a warning.
I read on wikipedia that they had determined Kazuma had won because there was a marking on the first of something. I don't know if they died or not though.

i always thought they lived and what with kaname's alter power she could feel where they were. it looked at the end like they still had a tie with the last battle they fought. it always seemed to me liek taht left space for another season if they ever chose so to do altough i dont ever see that happening.

I always thought those two knuckleheads survived but they had finally resolved their eh...differences, thus making Kanami have her last dream of them. I would have totally loved the anime if those two didn't fight so much.
What were they fighting about again?

not to sure really, i think it was a rivalry really, therefor they got along by fighting. even if they were friends. friendly fighting really. as for the topic, i belive they are still alive

I liked the anime...but the ending made me cringe...what exactly happened?

That's what we're trying to figure out. Did they die, or did they survive. Kazuma won, yeah. THe fist that came up out of the rubble had the markings of his arm on it, so yeah. But they continued fighting, since they are almost perfectly equal in strength.

I was assumming they were fighting in Hell or Heaven or something. Heh...
I don't think it's ever revealed whose hand was raised in the air in a cleanched fist.
To conclude, rocklobster is so going to pay for giving me the false spoiler of Kanami's death.

I'd better not get involved lest I be unable to keep from launching into an anti-S-CRY-ed rant.

Is there an anime you DO like, RedMage?

I thought my undying love for
Cowboy Bebop was at least well known. Also
Martian Successor Nadesico, The Big O, Last Exile, and
Full Metal Panic! to name a few. Read my post in the last favorite animes thread.
It is true, however, that I consider a majority of the series which have appeared on American TV recently to be garbage.

Kanami doesn't die or metamorph into anything, she just stands there and then the scene segues to the place where Ryohou and Kasama come out of the ground and resume the fight.
It looks to me though that the fight is a bit open ended.

I thnk the hand is symbolic at the end - it goes into the shape of the alter Ryuhou often uses when summoning Zetsui, and then it goes into the fist. Possible the fight never determinded the winner- we do know that those two are the strongest living people on the planet, though.

This series should have ended at ep 25. Other than that I loved the series. I watched all of it in like a weekend.

Did anyone else ever notice that Ryohou named his Alter after his Doberman Pinscher that was killed when the unknown Alter attacked his family?

Why should it have ended at 25? 26 was the best fight ever. Regardless, yeah, I knew he had named his Alter after his doberman.

But it served no purpose beside being a "cool" fight scene. They essentially admitted as much in the episode.
(Oops, there I go.)

From what I've seen, you hate most anime, so yeah. Whatever.
Anyway, it did serve a purpose - there would not be these questions if not for that episode. In the English dub, Kanami says that she kept dreaming forever. In the Japanese dub, she says everyone was dreaming. So, were they alive, or not? Was it all fictional, or did they exist from the very beginning at all? Did they pull a Final Fantasy 10 on us?

Then you need to see more. Like, say, earlier in this very thread. We covered this territory already.

I'm talking about the fight scene, not the episode as a whole. The fight is meaningless. They don't have any differences in principle or belief anymore, they're just fighting for the sake of "finding out who's stronger" (yeah, never heard that before). What was the name of the old Saturday Night Live sketch? "Who's More Macho?" or something like that. It's just an excuse to have one more action scene. It's right up there with Ed versus Greed in FMA for pointless anime battles.

I need to see more? I've seen enough anime. But we have not necessarily covered this territory already

My dear friend, one has never see
enough anime. ]But we have not necessarily covered this territory already[/QUOTE]
Yeah we did. Somebody else sarcastically asked if there was any anime I did like, and I listed several. Right at the top of the previous page, just scroll up.

Ah. Alright. Anyway, by this territory, I meant the speculation of Scryed.

Thats the truth. I loved the series but the 26th ep only served as a filler to give it the usual 26 ep run. And Destroyer and Redmage calm down no need to start aguing over this. Just talk about S-cry-ED and if you aren't a fan of it Red, then just move along ^^;

I apologize. I actually thought she was going to because she's so weak.
