Anyone like,...or at least SEEN Vandread? Not very many people have heard of it here in GA. P.S. I'll be gone till Sunday (world's biggest yardsale) don't ask,... I just got invited.

I like Vandread... but I have a problem with two things:
1) the fanservice content in the credits roll at the end, and
2) the dubbing... I mean, it wasn't horrible, but I think it could have been done a little better. Granted, I've only seen the dub... but I'm fantastically picky, apparently...

Yeah, the dub had some rough moments, but it was acceptable to me. The main characters were good, but the quality dropped of considerably for secondary and tertiary characters. It helps that I like Lia Sargent’s voice. Some find it annoying, but I find it cute.
I thought the plot and moral of the story were excellent. The story itself was entertaining.
BTW, yes, I’m a fan.

I tried to order 2nd Stage last month from Animenation but I had trouble getting into the check out(for some reason every time I tried I got the same error message),so will have to try next month as I already have my qouta for this month.

I liked it! Well, the central characters anyhow. The whole same gender on one planet thing was a tad freaky and the ensuing same gender couple comments really rubbed me the wrong way, but thank goodness they didn't dwell on it much.
Hibiki and Dita were a really cute couple - the way she kept calling him 'Mr. Alien' and trying to get his attention kept me interested.

I am also a vandread fan. Vandread (1st and 2nd stage) was probably one of the first few anime series I've collected. I really enjoyed the story as it progressed. It was a good mix between humor and drama.

Although it might fit more of a Platonic ideal having the sexes segregated like that, though I suppose to actually continue the race they would,as Plato states in his Republic, have to set particuliar times each year for mating.I also suppose that the males and females would be raised together until they were around the age where they could eat solid foods by themselves and then the males would be shuttled off to their fathers homeworlds. That at least is the only way I can see how the two sexes could be so separated.Though the premise of Vandread,or what I understand to be the premise makes this entire idea impossible since from what I understand of it the sexes or at war.So the question is where do all the children come from?

Factories, in the case of the men. Essentially, advanced cloning.
Laboratory fertilization, in the case of the women.

SWEET! Finally someone knows about it. Only me and my two friends, Keith and Kevin have actually heard of it over here. I'm a huge fan, it's my fave. show. Though, it's kinda wierd. I've got all 26 eps. recorded on tivo, and I'm trying to save money to get the box set so I don't keep takin' up room. P.S. they explained the women's reproductive system on one of the eps. It wouldn't be so wierd if they had explained both on the first, though.
