When this aired on CN, assumming it was a 26-episode-long series I went away after seeing Episodes 1-4 and was unable to catch 5-6. So, I was wondering, did it have an ending that explained everytihng or did it just end right there. Like canceled, and stuff.
This series makes less sense than BoBoBo-BoBo-BoBo.

its only 6 eps long. it finishes it but the story is not explained exactly per-se, you kinda need to re-watch it a bit to start to get things to make sense, well atr least i did anyway.

So I guess I'll wait until AS shows it again, and hope I don't miss it.

You're in luck: All six episodes are being run in a mini-marathon the night of August 5. Adult Swim's annual "set our schedule for one night" contest winner picked all anime.

Yeah there is no real explination or ending to FLCL. It kinda just brings more questions in the process of explaining it.

It's kind of like LAIN or any of Satoshi Kan's work. You have to watch it several times through before you start getting the jist of everything.
And even then, a lot if it's just wierd...

But substantially more light-hearted.

FLCL isn't like Lain at all, in my view... As for Satoshi Kon, i've only seen Millinium actress all the way through, and I definately had a hard time getting through that one... The way it kept going back and forth between her real life and the movies she played in, I wasn't sure which were which by the end...
FLCL I understood after the first viewing, but I soon forgot what it was that I understood, hahah... You definately have to watch the whole thing... I'd suggest getting it on netflix... that's a legal way to do it, and it's my method of choice for obtaining anime...

For more (and better) psychological-esque thriller, check out perfect blue and paranoia agent.

That implies FLCL is a "psychological-esque thriller," which it patently is not. FLCL is closer to a coming-of-age comedy than anything else. But I know you can't pass up a chance to pimp Satoshi Kon stuff.

I haven't tried Perfect Blue, but I saw an episode of Paranoia Agent and all I have to say is...
-Worst opening.
-Dumbest Anime I have ever seen.
Does having the main character of FLCl parodize that of the one of PA since they both carry bats around.

Paranoia Agent came well after FLCL.

That's analysis, not a straightforward answer. You find it for all manner of stories.
Personally (having read through the FLCL manga and that site quite some time ago) I am not particularly fond of the series. After some thought and the theories of others I'm confident I understand it, but still very cynical about if that is in any way worth being said. Of course, when it comes to this sort of thing I'm fairly iconoclastic, so take my opinion with a grain of your condiment of choice.

FLCL jumped around way too much for it only being a 6 ep show for me. not to mention as i believe someone has already said on here, if you only watch the series one time through you wont be able to understand it all. i ended up watching it three times i think before i actually understood what was going on at certain times in the show. as for the last episode the only thing it really explains is the meaning of FLCL. wich i guess technically that explains a lot but you can pretty much guess what it means by the end of the show.

Ok it's FLCL from 11 p.m.-2 a.m. followed by Cowboy Bebop,Trigun,Paranoia Agent and Samurai Champloo for Saturday night/early Sunday morning line up for
AS.
Though admittedly confusing at times the real reason why FLCL is popular is not the anime itself so much as the background and theme music supplied by The Pillows.
I don't think FLCL would have become as popular as it is without it's musical background.

Um, you know, when I ask people why they like FLCL, the answer I get is not "Because it has great music." In fact, I'm pretty sure I've never heard anyone say that. Usually I get "Because it's hilarious," "Because it's just crazy," "Because it's the weirdest thing I've ever seen," answers like that. So yeah, I'm pretty sure the music has nothing to do with its popularity (though I admit it certainly didn't hurt).

I think ML was just implying he loved the soundtrack.

Personally, I could go with the "because it's wierd" opinion on why I like it. And the robot designs. And such smooth animation. And I've only seen two episodes (though I did understand most of it, I believe). o+o
I need to see more so I can really decide on this one. -_o

Or maybe it could be Haruko is just so insane she's totally fun to watch.
Off topic:If it had been me it would have been a whole night of nothing but
Inuyasha,Neon Genesis Evangelion and Big O.
