Infinite Ryvius

I just saw a banner for this title at Megatokyo. Wasn't really paying too much attention to it, til I saw something about Lord of the Flies. My curiousity sparked, I went over to the website and checked it out. Sounds interesting enough, and the trailer looks good. I'm really excited it's based on Lord of the Flies; that was an awesome book I read Sophomore year for English.
My question is, anyone seen this? Know anything about it? I got the basic plot summary--but is there anything I should know before potentially buying it? Any links to good reviews? Heck, any info period would be helpful. Thanks.

Yeah, I'm very interested in this title as well, Ash. I've read a couple articles on it in Newtype USA, and it looks like it could be a really great series. Like you, I think the Lord of the Flies concept in an outer space setting is very intriguing. Newtype USA was very positive about Infinite Ryvius. I will look for a review on a site and if I find it will post it later.

I actually had trouble finding sites or reviews for this series. Here is one site I found. I didn't really preview the site.

I've seen the first volume, it's pretty good. I'll get around to renting the next sometime later. I'm not sure if I'd really call it Lord of the Flies in space though. The only real similarity that I can think of is that it involves a lot of young people who have suddenly lost adult supervision and need to survive on their own. From what I've seen of it the series however, I'd say that Golding's novel contains vastly different themes about the nature of self and society than does Ryvius.

Does anyone have any more information on this series? I saw an article on it and there was a ferret and I was like, "Awww, a ferret, I must watch this show now!"...yeah I know that's a lame reason for wanting to watch something, but oh well. lol ^_^ Anyway, I was thinking of buying this series and was just wondering about content and stuff.

I rented the first volume today but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I plan on watching it tomorrow--I'll let you know what I think when I get done!

If I get this series, I was actually thinking of getting the dvd with the series box, because it comes with a ferret plushie
...and some pencil boards of course. I haven't bought any pencil boards in a while and my collection is feeling neglected.

I seen the trailer on Feb.'s issiue of NewType magazine and it looks veeeerrrryyy interesting. The concept of 'kids' piloting the spaceships and being alone with no adults is a unique idea. I need to watch some episodes now!! lol..

I have the title song for this anime, and I haven't even seen it before. It was on BM98.
Anyway, it sounds very interesting indeed. Maybe I'll check it out.

The anime sounds interesting enough - but I wonder how I'd like it since I didn't care for Lord of the Flies.

Vol. 2 was pretty good, so it's still on my "to rent" list.

Since I'm a sci-fi fan, this title has attracted my attention. From the trailer alone, it looked pretty interesting. So, I want to see it.

Ohh, I think your looking at the Limited Edition Boxset bundle. It only comes with Vol. 1 DVD of Infinite Ryvius, 4 pencil cases, a ferrit plushy, and the box.
