FUNi announces FMA theatrical release

So the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, Conqueror of Shamballa, is supposed to be releasing in theaters late summer. (August, according to Wizard; September according to Newtype)
I'm hoping for September, actually; give me three more paychecks to catch up on the end of the series with.
I wonder if it's going to be a full theatrical release nationaly, or a limited one. One would think that LA wouldn't get ignored with limited releases, but I missed Mirror Mask and Ghost in the Shell 2 because they didn't come out anywhere near here... well, here's hoping.

!! How exciting!! I really hope it's in all theaters, instead of just a few...I live in a relatively small town, and I think the only anime movie we've had in theaters was Spirited Away (that's right, we didn't even get Howl's Moving Castle). I really hope it comes to my town, I'll definitely be going to see it (even if it doesn't answer all the questions about the series, and even if I've seen half of it subbed, I'm still really excited about this!!)!

Sick!
I've been waiting FOREVER to see this movie since I like dubs better than subs usually.
And yes, some people I heard dislike this movie, but I want to see it regardless.

Sorry to say this, but it will not be a full theatrical release, but its not going to very limited release at the sometime. Its going to be in the in the middle as for movie release.
I know that FUNi wants to make it bigger release, but it doesn't look like it will but a full theatrical release.
But they may change their minds, who knows.

The real question for me is when it is coming out on DVD. I doubt I'd go to see it in theaters, but considering that I've gone through the anime all the way so far and the movie is more or less just a continuation, I should probably view it sometime.

Every threater? Most likely not. I'm going to assume only a few select ones. Probably less than the amount Miyazaki films get.

(Oh, niiice. I have a feeling Rai-sama'll drag me to this one if it's released somewhere around here (preferably between here and Naples, but who knows?). We didn't get Spirited Away OR Howl's Moving Castle, or any anime of any kind, so I have no clue how it'll go... But Tampa does have a habit of getting some cool stuff every now and then, so we'll see. I think I'll want to go with my Dad regardless, and maybe Mega, depending upon the content.)

According to Vic Mignogna's site, the release for the movie is October 3. Arrgh... so many release dates! Still, once again, an October release will pretty much guarantee I actually get to see the end of the series before the movie (though the producer has said it's a stand-alone story, he also said fans of the show will enjoy it in a different way).
I wonder what happens to Hughes in the movie...
And Alphonse's new body and powers look pretty cool.
FUNi's doing an amazing job with the FMA dub... it's probably the only anime where my enjoyment of the sub and dub are pretty much equal. Oh, and welcome, Zephyr.

If your parents let you go, I bet I could get mine to okay it.
Here's a question: I haven't seen much of the series at all ~ and I don't think I would be able to easily [I don't think the local libraries carry anime and my mom's leery of anime]. Would that hamper my enjoyment of the movie?

As I said, the producer from Aniplex said the movie is designed to appeal to new fans as well. And maybe if you let your mom know that the main character's voice actor is a Christian, she'd let you watch the series?

That's a good point ~ she might think that was cool. She isn't antagonistic, mind, just cautious. I should add that she bought me the only manga I own [the first 5 volumes of Rurouni Kenshin].

Okay, I talk to some one that can tell me if AoD is right.
FMA movie should be release on Sept 26 and Vol 13 of FMA will be release on the same day too.
I check rightstuf web page and it shows under preorder.
That Vol 13 and the movie to be relase on Sept 26.
So, I say that the movie will be showed in Aug for theater run.

It just doesn't answer a lot of the questions, and it makes a few more. I've yet to actually finish watching this movie (saw the first half of it a while ago), but a lot of people were dissapointed by it, since it seems to leave questions and plot holes unanswered and unfilled.

I expect that from a movie based on a TV show, actually.

Well, to each his own, I guess. Having seen the premiere at AX06, I thought the movie was perfect.

At the AX premier they did say it was going to get a "nation wide release" but then they also said to check some website for theater dates, which makes me think it;s still going to be limited -_-. I don't understand why no one (except WB) is willing to release an anime movie as a wide release. It boggles my mind.

It said it would reach theatres nationwide on September 8th.

I've seen the movie, and I liked it. I really hope they show the Chibi Party short in the theaters as well. It's pretty good.
