In case you haven't heard, the Anime News Network is experiencing some technical difficulties. Something about their server being overloaded. That's all I know. I found out yesterday. Just thought I'd pass this along.

The main page can be got to ok,it's the rest of the site that's having problems.I've tried several times the last couple days to get on to their Enclyopedia to look up

Wow! That is a real downer. I use the site all the time. I didn't use it in the past two days so I didn't know this. Where will I go for my anime information needs now!?

I was wondering why I couldn't get on the site...XD I thought it was my computer. ...I'm relieved now, actually.

Ohhhh...THAT'S why I wasn't able to access it last night! I typed in the address and I got a search engine. I would have gotten worried but it was 1 in the morning, so I just turned off my computer and went to sleep.
Oooh! Sleep! Not a bad idea!

Looks like it's back up, if a bit slow. From the site:
On Wednesday, May 24, our main server sufferred a hardware failure. Starting on Thursday, ANN was transferred to our backup server. Unfortunately, that server is not capable of handling the amount of traffic that the site receives. In order to keep from overloading the backup server, we disabled most site features.
We have now purchased and installed a replacement server, however the new server still needs a bit of work and upgrades to be fully up to spec. Most importantly, we need to upgrade the ram (from 1 gig to 4 gigs). As a result the server may be a little slow for the moment, but the ram upgrade is expected very soon.
We will also be repairing our old server and putting it back online to allow us to run it as a redundant server. With the redundant server, ANN should be able to maintain full site functionality even when there are server failures.
We at ANN apologize for the inconvenience caused by the downtime. We would also like to thank Cologuys for their hard work in helping to get the site back online. Cologuys provided us with significantly more help than they are required to by the terms of their service agreement.
