Which anime magazine do you like the best? I like AI myself, and I despise the Beckett Anime Collector.

Stopped getting AI a while ago once I used my sources online for getting info. Used to be a hillarious mag, but then seemed to slow down after the first several issues :/ Still kept a pile of them^^ And liked them since they cover lots of stuff(licensed/unlicensed anime, manga, games, etc) AND they were the mag that showed me what anime outside of Canadian TV was like^^ Didn't know the world of anime was so big until I read my friend's first 2 issues of that mag @_@

Why's that? I haven't even LOOKED at that mag since I stopped getting Pokemon/Digimon Collector so many years back...

Oh and din't even SEE Newtype on the list >_< That's full of very pretty pictures... although the Japanese version is (especially) obsessed with Gundam Seed >_< Every issue my friend gets, they ALWAYS have stuff on it! Not AS bad as the North American one...

I've also never read Animerica... browsed through one once and seemed VERY short concidering the price and nothing too special :/

What? Animerica isn't on here? That's the only anime magazine I've ever read, so I'm quite shocked to see them not on here...

Animerica isn't listed because it isn't published anymore.

I swear by Newtype-USA. I have like the last two years worth of those mags. Love the Official Art sections and I find myself going back to read old articles when I actually see something and know I have a past article on it.

Newtype USA does like G-Seed but it has plenty of other material.

Yeah...the only anime magazine that I have ever got (only one issue) was Newtype-USA. The DVD preview thing that came with it was good, but the magazine was filled with anime that I was not the least bit interested in...

I liked Anime Insider best because of the irreverent sense of humor it had. Newtype I thought was just overpriced for the content. Newtype was good, though it mostly dealt with series I didn't care for. I was suprised to see Animerica not on there, but personally I thought it was the worst out there, seeming to care mostly about image. They tell me it got better when Trish Ledoux stepped down (no idea if that fact is true or not), but I had quit before then and by that time I was getting all my information from the internet so I quit the magazines in general. The others on the list I have not tried.

My favorite was a UK magazine called (I think) Manga Max. But that went out of print years ago... in 2000 maybe

I love Shoujo Beat! I like how it's partly like a normal teen fashion mag, and the cultural articles are really interesting. It gives me a chance to experience manga that I probably would never buy on my own, and their Shoujo Beat manga line introduced me to Ultra Maniac and Full Moon Wo Sagishite, for which I am eternally grateful. I think that the six manga series currently being serialized are very different from one another("Nana" is sort of a josei slice-of-life romantic drama, "Absolute Boyfriend" is a raunchy teen romantic comedy, "Baby & Me" is a younger slice-of-life comedy/drama, "Kaze Hikaru" is a historical romance/action manga, "Godchild" is a dark gothic mystery series, and "Crimson Hero" is a sports manga), which really helps it be more of a "something for everyone" magazine other than just for the hard-core shoujo fans.

I love NewType! I just discovered two months ago, and I love it! It's great for an anime fan like me who's on a STRICT budget!

I'd have to say that Newtype is probably the all around best magazine at the moment. True, a lot of the "stories" are mostly fluff and a big picture, but the sheer range of material (and cool extras) even it out. I've never enjoyed Anime Insider, to tell the truth. Just not very deep, to me.

Animerica was pretty cool. Very good writting, but they couldn't really do much in the way of news (They seemed to stay several months behind ANYTHING current. Too bad)
