Pretty Cure...good, bad, what?

Since I'm a huge fan of Magical Girl animes, it's a little odd I wouldn't look into Pretty Cure until now, but...*shrugs* Just the way things happened. *sweatdrops*

Either way, I finally decided to watch episode one the other day and was really enjoying what I saw. I especially loved the OP theme...and then I saw/heard it. Female admirers? Ones who seal their envelopes shut with heart stickers? Wasn't sure what to make of this. I originally thought of the relationship between Zakuro and Mint and how it could be like that, but I thought I better be sure.

Is there anything else about this series I should know about, and is it pretty safe to say they mean those type of admirers? Just checking because it would really suck to have junk like that in there.

If you get into it, beware the upcoming dub, heh....

Ya, I know. *sighs* Just wish someone would give me a straight answer. Otherwise most people seem to be giving me this "there are some subtle yuri hints", but seeing as girls in anime have always been very close (and mistaken as yuri) I don't know on what level this stands.

I'm pretty sure a good amount of the "yuri undertones" are simply purposely taken out of context by fans, the 20 or so raw episodes that I watched seemed fine enough; incredibly cheesy & cliche (like the kabuki-badguy in the first part of the show), but that was probably intended.

I think Sync's completely hit the nail on the head. While I haven't seen the show, 8 out of 10 time someone tells you a show has "Yuri undertones" that means, typically, that if you choose to go into the show saying "There are no lesbian characters in this show, and any such 'undertones' are actually just signs of strong friendship"-- you'll be fine. The "undertones" are generally the musings of those who want to see Yuri in the show. (You see this all the time in shows like DNAngel. I cannot count the number of dellusional fangirls who believe that everyone in DNAngel is totally TEH G4YN3SS!!)

Of course, since I haven't seen the show, I can't say for sure-- but if it were me, I think I'd give the show a try and watch it until I came to a point where I felt I could say for certainty that the undertone were actually intentional allusions to homosexuality.

Zakuro and Mint? ... why can't I remember who that is? There is no yuri between the 2 main characters but there is ton of fan art out there that would make you think otherwise. Sync reviewed it pretty well. It's a pretty cheesy show, I had to fastforward through the repetitive parts of it in order to keep my sanity. If you can find me a picture of the 2 characters you are talking about I should be able to tell you for sure since I watched the first 40 episodes I just never remember names. XD :lol:

*lol* Yes. I used Zakuro and Mint because LOADS of people love to twist Mint's admiration into a huge crush deal. ^^;

But anyways, thanks for telling me all that stuff guys. Obviously I don't want that stuff there, so for me it just won't be. Always gotta ask though seeing as some of the weird things fans say and do anymore. ._.

The show is 4kids material anyways. Don`t be that worried.

Nothing is "4Kids" material. One Piece wasn't (but they got it anyways), and neither was stuff like Shaman King (have you seen the manga?).

Of course, the others here have already voiced what they've seen in the show, so I'm sure it's fine anyways.
