(From ANN)
"Naruto Uncut Preview for Shonen Jump Subscribers (2006-04-08 15:29:21)
Shonen Jump subscribers will receive a Naruto uncut preview DVD in the July issue, according to the latest Shonen Jump newsletter. The first Naruto uncut box set streets on July 4."

...more recognizing the fact that a whole uncut BOXSET will be coming out (and apparently contains 13 eps). ...kind of a small set though, for such a long series stuff like Inuyasha at least come in 27 eps for a set (well, it is the whole season, but still more reasonable).

Thanks to the fine folks at Toon Zone, I've known about this for quite some time.

Thanks for posting, though.

Will it have just the English voice tracks or will it have the Japanese as well? I'm not an uber huge fan of the English dub myself....

It'll have the original track as well. Why wouldn't it?

That said, the dub is one of the best I've seen. I personally couldn't stand the subbed version myself...

With the english already being released seperately, I believe this is like when they released the first 2 seasons of Sailor Moon and had one dub only and one Japanese with subs only.

I'm almost certain the uncut is going to include an English dub. For one thing, I believe I read somewhere that the voice actors had dubbed some new lines for the uncut edition. For another thing, all of Viz's other uncut releases have both dubs and subs.

To rephrase what I said earlier, I guess what I mean is not so much that the English VAs do a bad job, as I think they do a relatively suitable job, but after hearing the Japanese first, some of the characters' personality quirks are somewhat lost in the English, which I have found (imo) leads to other things being lost, or if not lost, then they aren't emphasized or presented to the same degree as they were in the original Japanese, such as some of the humor with Kakashi-sensei's laid-back-ness or some of the more mischievous aspects of Naruto's personality. Again, this is just my opinion, but hey, those are my observations. Alot of it has to do with things like tone of voice in relation to the characters' personalities and how those things are portrayed in both language tracks. Again, personal preferences of my own to some degree for sure, but just thought maybe I'd offer some further clarity on what I'd previously said :-)

Even MORE news from AnimeOnDVD:

"For those waiting for the uncut version, a limited edition version is now apparently also being solicited for $69.95 that will contain a Naruto headband and wrist cuff. No changes have been made to the $49.95 edition."
