CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

This is actually pretty old (about a year, May 5, 2005) but I recently just found it again. It's a portion from NPR (National Public Radio) about Satoshi Kon and Paranoia Agent. It's a really interesting radio broadcast. Check it out! Millenium Actress, Perfect Blue, and Tokyo Godfathers are also mentioned. It's not that long, (Little less than 6 minutes) and I think it's worth the time.

Yeah, because Kon had huge budgets, and Anno managed to make some incredible animation and fantastic art direction on a small budget. ; )

Perfect Blue vs. Evangelion.... Blue FTW. Because of that, Kon never had to work on a small budget again.

And don't give me that crud about Anno's small budget. Eva had a huge budget. Anno just spent it all before the end.

I perfer Paranoia Agent or Perfect Blue over Evangalion. I just think it's simply a lot better. Psychological Thrillers always take the cake for me. Doesn't matter if Anno had a smaller budget or not. Satoshi Kon had a better idea and he pulled it off.

And you obviously don't have your facts straight. First of all Evangelion had an average TV budget, and no, Anno did not "spend all the money before the end".

But I'll explain it to you, in Japan SEGA was the main sponsor, and cut their funding due to some controversial issues in episodes 18 and 19. So, no, he didn't spend the budget.

Gainax did sort of run out of cash on His and Her Circumstances, although Anno kind of pulled out of that part way through from what I hear.

Personally, I thought Anno's "issues" were the genius of Evangelion, personally. I also don't understand how you can compare Perfect Blue to NGE. But we aren't supposed to discuss NGE anyway, so forget it.

Millenium actress was a big disappointment for me... Too hard to follow... no separation between the movies she acted in and her actual life...

I haven't see anything else he made, except brief portions of Perfect Blue...

Sorry, I wasn't trying to start a debate, but just because I bring up a director (in a silly way) doesn't mean I'm referring to a single one of his or her works.

I only don't like when people spread misinformation about a series, most likely because they have something against it.

As far as Kon's works go, I don't particularly find them that interesting. They're okay, but I'm not really a fan. I find it almost as if he tries too hard to be artsy sometimes.

Disclamer: That's an opinion, so don't take issue with it.

Sadly, I've only seen one of Kon's work and that would be Paranoia Agent. I want to rent his other works now...

Paranoia Agent BTW, is pure genious IMO.
