well, I didn't see a thread about this, sorry if there is one, so I decided to make one.
so, who out there has seen this series? I've been watching it on AS, and I fell in love with it. so, what are your opinions and whose your favorite character so far? I love Kazuma :3

I've seen the whole series the first time AS showed it. I love it as well. Its just a good series for some reason. Kazuma and Ryuho are my favorites. Cougar and Kimishima are great too, though. How can I pick just one?

wow, i'm actually new to it
. but yeah, I agree, how can someone pick just one? I like them all but I just like Kazuma the most. Ryuho, eh, not such a big fan of him at all. but anywho, I think it has some good points in it. like how HOLD and HOLY treated the native alters. it made me want to reach through the screen and strangle them for treating them like that. kinda makes you think eh?

I've seen bits and pieces of some episodes. I must say I haven't been at all impressed. The plot and writing seemed quite trite and generic, and the animation effects were rather cheesy. Plus, it loses points for having the most mystifyingly stupid title of any anime series I'm aware of.

I have vol. # 1 of the manga as well as having watched the series through since it has been on AS.
My favorite is Cerish played by the very talented Lara Jill Miller.I also like Kaname
and Mimori(sp.?)
Of the male characters I like Tachibani(again sp.?)the one with the Eternity 8 Treasure Balls.I think as a sub character he is really well thought out and his back ground gives him a bit more sympathy, especially when you see him in hospital with
Tammy his girlfriend.

FINALLY! Someone who thinks like I do! I knew I wasn't the only one who thought this was really, REALLY stupid! All the characters did was yell, scream and surround themselves with pretty lights. The animation was GREAT! Absolutely beautiful, and the voice actors are the best in the business, but the plotline and the character personalities really seem pressed out from a cookie cutter...namely DBZ!

Well, I like the charecters at first, and they did a good job of showing the disparity of the situation they were in. The animation and dialogue were a bit juvinile, but I didn't mind it as the story was engaging enough. However,
The end, especially the last few episodes, ruined it for me. I get that it was important that they gain more and more powers, but the way they were drawn and the direction the dialogue took, it became more like DBZ—which I cannot stand. Especially the last episode where Kazuma and Ryuho just fight for no reason.
Amen to that, Sweet Mercury.
Talk about an absolutely pointless ending!
The very last episode I actually yelled at the TV screen, "Will you two knock it off already! There's an enemy armada coming at you and you're STILL fighting like children!" I think maybe they were trying to make the point that conflict is endless, or that it's important to keep trying to reach your goal and not get sidetracked (even by a pesky invasion that threatens to wipe out your home and everyone you love). Whatever. It was a real let-down for me to see that those two hadn't grown up one iota.
The sad thing is, I really enjoyed the series up to that point!

And will someone PLEASE explain this to me:
Why did Kanami age about 3 years when her hairbow blew away in the last scene of the series? I just don't get it!
The whole series, in general was a big let down for me. As I said, the voice actors and the animation was great, but other than that, the whole thing really and truly made me ill.
Though, I have to admit the episode when:
Kimishima, the greatest character on the show died on Kazuma's back...
Was acceptable and pretty well done in my book.

One of the funniest moments is when Ryhou misdirects Cerishe and she ends up in the middle of a herd of sheep at the Inner's Farm!

I had seen part of the series when my club was watching it but they didn't finish it so I had to wait for it to be shown on CN to see the whole series.
Some of the series dosen't match the manga because in the anime some of the characters died that didn't die in the manga.
I have heard that there maybe a second season to the series coming soon or later.
I would like to see how the fight ended and what everyone ended up doing.

There's always rumors of more episodes of seasons when it comes to a popular anime.I don't know if I would trust the rumors of a second season for SCRYED though since:1)a lot of the main characters are dead
2)there doesn't seem to be a whole lot left unsaid

True. I think the only anime I've seen on AS that could
use another season would be Big O.

hehe, I loved s-CRY-ed for the most part. I'd say Ryuho was my favorite character. But I think that sort of changed during the last episodes...I mean...ugg...what morons... How could they make my Ryuho so stupid!? I think because of that, I've now decided Tachibana was the best character. He wasn't stupid. Cougar was okay except for the fact that he was usually annoying. I did like learning a bit about his and Kazuma's past together.

Evidently Commander Jigmar's legal position in Japan was a bit iffy as he refers once to maybe having going back to the States.

I think the series was a little lacking, BUT over all, it was very good.
My brothers and I watched the last seven episodes in one day. . . fun fun fun
My fav character is Tachibana, he's cool.
PRAY HARD! ! !

The only other good thing that I kinda liked about S-Cry-Ed was the theme song "Reckless Fire"...that's good Ackie Driving Tunage!

Oh, I remember this anime. XD I watched it the first time through, and while some episodes entertained me, most of them were drab, boring, and pointless. And then that ending...oh, that awful ending. I decided it wasn't worth a second watch-through.

I enjoyed the series alot. I didn't get to see the whole thing, unfortunatley, but it was very different than most of adult swim's other anime shows. I enjoy watching it. Also, Kazuma is my favorite character as well.
WARNING: DON'T BUY THE MANGA! I brought it, and never read it again. It is just weird, and VERY inappropriate.
